There are no MVCgames tonight (Friday, 12/18 ), but 9 MVC teams are in action Saturday (every team except Bradley)-

Missouri State (9-0) is one of the few remaining undefeated teams left, and they play perhaps their toughest game so far on the road at St. Louis. The Billikens are a surprising 7-3 (7-0 at home) though their wins have been against fairly weak opponents.

Perhaps Saint Louis' best player, sophomore point guard Kwamain Mitchell, suffered an eye injury in their last game, and reports are that he will need surgery and will not play tomorrow night. Mitchell was averaging 14.3 ppg, and a team-leading 2.9 assists per game. With Mitchell out, SLU is really hurting at the PG position. This is a game MSU can win.

The Valley season gets defined tomorrow.

Creighton isn't going to win at UNM.
Missouri St has their 2nd toughest test of the non-con, can the magic stay?
Illinois St is trying to out-meltdown us  and I don't expect a win at Utah.
And Wichita will have their hands full with TTU.
Even Drake at Iowa scares me.

It wouldn't take a lot to slip to 3-6 for the day.

However, 8-1 or 7-2 changes the entire dynamic of the season.

It will take more then one weekend to change the dynamics of the Valley this year. 8-1 or 7-2 still does not put us in a 2 bid league. ;)

This is going to be one interesting day in the Valley tomorrow! That Wichita St./Texas Tech game should be one wild game!

While 8-1 may not put us in a 2 bid league, it could still put Wichita St. into at least the at-large discussion. They would need to do a lot more to earn an at-large bid, but they will definitely get some press if they beat "son of Bobby Knight"!

And a Creighton win in the Pit at New Mexico would also send a message to the Valley that they will be a very tough out during the season.

It should be VERY interesting tomorrow.

here's what almost funny-ironic...

ISU has done the one and only thing they could have done to improve their SOS...
they have now lost to mediocre teams, thus putting more wins in their opponents' record,
and improving their opponents' RPI's....and thus improving their own SOS...
.....not the way you'd want to but mission accomplished!

New Mexico rallies to beat Creighton in a close game at Albuquerque. So the MVC goes 7-2 today-

Indiana State's Harry Marshall has been suspended from the team "due to a violation of team and university policies." He did not play in their road win at Toledo tonight. -

A great day for the Valley today despite the Creighton loss at the end. Considering many had the Valley going 3-6, 7-2 is quite the accomplishment!

Winning at Utah might help them out a bit also. Talk about your split personalities. SIU with a great stretch run to get the W. CU can't catch a break this year. Still a great day for the Valley at 7-2.

Stupid illinoy!

Pretty good night for the Valley. We're seeing 3 teams separate, IMO. I feel like if UNI, WSU, and MSU finish in a 3 man breakaway at the top of the Valley standings, I'll find it very hard to see 2 of them NOT make the tournament.

IMO - the MVC/MWC will be decided at The Drake. I like UNI's chances of winning. But I have my doubts for The Drake. It's all about The Drake.

That's great for the Valley. Sometimes it's better for three or four teams to separate well ahead of the rest. I'd much rather see BU be one of those 3 teams, but for now the Valley starting a new streak of multi bid years is important.

It will be very interesting to see the new Bracketology tomorrow.
