MVC- looking more like a 2-bid conference?

Here is an article from the Alton Telegraph about the MVC this year. They predict just 1 bid for the Valley.-

But I think the prospect of 2-bids is looking better. Of course, that depends on the top team, UNI, getting upset in the MVC tournament. But unlike the last couple seasons, the top MVC team, UNI, is climbing in the rankings and RPIs and will be difficult for the selection committee to omit as an at-large team. But will they be beatable in the MVC tournament?

UNI and WSU would have a chance of representing well too. I just dont see anyone beating Northern Iowa in St Louis. I think there is a fairly wide gap between them and the Shockers.

In this conference anybody can win on any given night. NO team is assured of running the table in St. Louis, not even UNI.

Agreed. But let's hope someone can beat UNI the MVC tournament. I think anyone can win it, especially in a one game championship game where anyone could have an off night.

Hopefully WSU stays with UNI and finishes close. Anyway, UNI has a great shot at the top 25 this week so I'll be watching the rankings later today.

UNI gets a high percentage of it's output from their starters, and very little off the bench. Their highest scoring reserve averages 3.7 ppg.
In a 3-day tournament like the MVCT, sometimes teams with greater depth do well, and a team like UNI could struggle. So I agree that they could be vulnerable to an upset.

I'm from Alton and rarely can you trust the telegraph for reporting local stories so I would not read into anything they say at all...The only thing they know about the valley is the Saluki's used to be real good and Kavon plays for evansville
