MVC Media day - Brian Wardle interview- talks a little about who will start

Coach Wardle says Dietrich will start and has grown to 6-8, 190 (was 6-7, 162 when he arrived last year)
He also talks about Timo as a likely starter, and Trevon Payton will start as the "2". and he mentions Thornbrue & Ibukunoluwa in that context.
Seastrunk has improved - can really score. He talks about Xander Alarie as if he's going to get a lot of playing time, too.

Today's 2026-27 MVC Media Day was held online on Youtube.com and X.com in a series of video interviews by The Field of 68 hosts (Rob Dauster, Jeff Goodman). It featured interviews with MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson, and each of the 11 MVC Head Coaches.

At the beginning of the interview with Coach Wardle, Rob Dauster says:
"Coach, you are now officially the eldest statesman in the Missouri Valley Conference."
Then he mistakenly says "it is year, I believe, 13 for you as the head coach at Bradley", and Coach Wardle corrected him and said it is year 12.

But technically, his first statement that Coach Wardle is the "eldest statesman in the Missouri Valley Conference", is also inaccurate.
I know he meant by seniority in the number of years he has been head coach. Now that Ben Jacobson is no longer coaching in the MVC, Coach Wardle's 11 seasons is the longest tenure of any MVC head coach.
But, Coach Wardle is far from the "oldest head coach in the MVC. In fact, he ranks in the lower half of MVC head coaches in terms of age.

I liked his comment that we have some really good 3 point shooters. It certainly will be an interesting season with all the new players. Really looking forward to see how good these guys are and how well they develop during the season. There looks to be a lot of talent, getting them to play well as a team will be the difference in wins and losses.
