MVC players entering the transfer portal

just now entering the portal,
SIU's 6-3 sophomore guard from Indianapolis, Sheridan Sharp...
played in almost every game, started four and averaged just under 5 ppg

He was a 2023 player with Indiana Elite AAU, the same program Connor Hickman, Ari Boya and Koch Bar came from and which
Coach Wardle has many connections.

Bradley had some recruiting interest in Sheridan Sharp, but never offered. He played in 26 games and got 4 starts for Scott Nagy this season at SIU. He has nice size (6'3") and seemed to me to have nice point guard skills and was a good passer. But Nagy preferred to play shoot-first guard Ali Dibba at the point, which might have hurt them. SIU was 10th in the MVC in turnovers per game.
Sharp in just 17.7 minutes per game actually had more assists per game (2.3 apg) than Dibba (2.0 apg), who averaged about twice as much playing time (34.0 minutes per game).

added Evansville's 3rd best player to go with their other two top guys entering the portal
- Cam Haffner

Summary so far- some pretty desirable players...plus a new one, McCrear
Gabe Pozzatto - Evansville (runner up for Freshman of the Year), Aces' 2nd best scorer
Tayshawn Comer - Evansville - Aces top scorer
Cam Haffner - averaged almost 15 ppg in conference games
Dez White - Missouri State - Bears' best player
Makhai Valentine - Missouri State - very promising freshman
Jurrell Baldwin - Missouri State - "" "" ""
Davion Hill - Missouri State (left before season started) - enrolled at juco and avg 14.3 ppg
John McCrear - Murray State - played little, redshirt freshman, can't imagine he'll land at DI
Kennard Davis - SIU - arguably their best player
Sheridan Sharp - SIU - 5 ppg reserve soph
Javon Jackson - UIC - Flames' top scorer
Joshua Reeves - UIC - a sub but averaged 9.2 min and 42% from 3-pt
Cooper Schwieger - Valparaiso - 1st Team all conference
All Wright - Valparaiso- Freshman of the Year

For anybody that does not think NIL money has ruined the sport all you have to do is look at this list already of Valley players leaving for more money. Funny thing about NIL is this was suppose to be about players doing commercials and getting paid for that, it was never suppose to be pay to play.

Wait until the shock hits BU, Drake, and ISU after our post-season play is over.

Murray State 6'8" junior Kyeron Lindsay also entering the portal. he averaged 6.6 ppg and 4.3 rpg.
Lindsay spent his freshman season at Georgia, his sophomore season at Texas Tech., and was a junior this season at Murray State. His next school will be his 4th D1 school in 4 years.
Bio- KyeRon Lindsay - Men's Basketball - Murray State University Athletics
Stats- KyeRon Lindsay Career Stats - NCAAM - ESPN

He looked to me like he has a lot of talent, but when he played, it appeared he was never giving 100% effort, and maybe even dogging it.

Yet a 4th Evansville starter, Tanner Cuff in the portal
8ppg, 6rpg, 3 apg

I believe it was announced that after one year at WVU, his dad is moving to Indiana University. I’m sure he will follow.

Yes. Reportedly Darian DeVries will be getting $7 million per year for 6 years from Indiana. And the deal also reportedly includes $2 million next year in NIL money for Tucker DeVries. That is double what he got at West Virginia for playing 8early season non-conference games.

Thanks. I just saw the posts about that in the other thread.

So let’s say Tucker chose to follow a path in the fine arts, any chance Dad would be seeing the success he’s seeing?

If Tucker is granted a red-shirt year, which should happen since he only played in 8 games, he will still only have 1 more season of eligibility. I wonder if coming off shoulder surgery, can he make a big difference for Indiana next year?
Even with a healthy Tucker, Indiana needs a big infusion of talent for next season, so Darian DeVries needs to step up his recruiting to have success in the Big Ten.

Valpo’s Isaiah Stanford and Indiana State’s Aaron Gray are both in the portal.

so is former Drake Bulldog & current DePaul Blue Demon Conor Enright.
