MVC Preseason awards- Malevy Leons 1st team Preseason All-MVC

A couple slightly surprising selections, IMO-
Indiana State's Julian Larry picked on All-MVC 2nd team- He averaged 7.0 ppg last season
SIU's Xavier Johnson picked on All-MVC 3rd team- He averaged 7.0 ppg last season

There are quite a few other returning players with scoring averages above 7 ppg.

I would rather be picked 3rd and finish 1st then the other way around.
It will be an interesting year. Everything depends how the new players gel with our present players.
I feel we have the potential to be better than last season.
 
There is definitely a lot of talent on this team. I think it will come down to how well they can mesh together and how good this team can shoot the 3 point shot. I expect our defense and rebounding to be very good when you look at our overall size and quickness. Hoping to see a team that presses more and scores around 80 a game. This should be a very interesting season with a good mix of veterans and newbies.

For the record, last year's preseason poll had Drake as the near-unanimous #1, and Bradley was picked #2. Bradley was the eventual regular season champion-
