Missouri State won today to improve to 10-6 and they are now in 6th place by themselves.
It's now a 6-team race, as UNI and Murray State have been eliminated from finishing 1st,

You know what this is building to? If we win the next 3 games ( and I think we can ) the last game of the season, senior night, playing for the championship. You cant script it any better in a movie.

That would absolutely be epic, and I’d love to see it. However, the three games Drake and Bradley have in between now and then are markedly tougher for BU than Drake, at least on paper.

one game at a time, Braves.

And regardless what happens in conference standings, finish in the top 4 and we have a legit chance to challenge again for a Valley Tourney Championship, which is far more consequential. Hard not to love this team.

Yes ... One game at a time

Drake does have an easier remaining schedule-
Drake's next game is at UNI Wednesday. In their game February 1 in Des Moines, UNI took Drake to 2 overtimes before Drake finally won. So the game at UNI could be a challenge for Drake (let's hope so), though UNI has been fading fast. UNI has lost 5 in a row, including an embarrassing loss to Evansville.
Then they have a home game against Belmont. Drake beat Belmont surprisingly easily in Nashville on January 29, 79-61. So I don't give Belmont much chance against Drake in Des Moines, but they are capable of an upset.
And then they have a home game against Illinois State. It's their only game against the Redbirds this season, but they should win easily.
Drake's biggest challenge will be their final game at Bradley.
By then, Bradley will riding a 9-game win streak. :)

Even if Bradley drops a game behind Drake heading into the finale, BU has 9 spots on Drake in the NET so it's likely we'd win the tiebreak and 1 seed/auto NIT bid. But that might also depend on what the other 3 teams a game behind end up doing.

As I see it if BU minds their business next Sunday should be the only game of concern for the Braves before the Drake game.
Drake has an easy schedule on paper but playing at Northern could be tough and Belmont isn't going to roll over for them.
I could see both teams going 3-0 heading into that showdown but, then again, I could see either or both going 2-1 before that game.
Bottom line is who is going to take care of business and it seems like both teams are getting the job done.
We need a full house on Sunday February 26th as that could be a preview of the MVC championship game.

I really really want that regular season MVC title. It's been decades since Bradley won the regular season title. Even a share of first place would be nice. We have less of a chance to win Arch Madness. So many teams capable of knocking each other off on any given day.

Yes, it would be great to finish first, but I still want our team to win the tournament. I believe Bradley has more depth than most teams. No guarantee, but it helps. We will still need our guards to hit 3 point shots in the tournament.

Yeah I think I am of your mind as well. Really unlike UNI to go on a 5 game losing streak, and I think they are still capable of beating anyone at home. Especially with the coach they have. Belmont is also not a pushover but was handled easily by Drake already once this season. However, Belmont has the capability to get hot from 3 and anything can happen if that occurs. I think it is nearly as likely for BU to go 3-0 down the stretch as Drake. We will see though.
