MVC Top Freshmen

Bradley has a freshman class consisting of Ari Boya, Armon Brummett & Ja'Shon Henry but right now I would not list them as potential picks for the All-Freshman Team in the MVC - the first year since the Geno Ford era that we won't have an All Freshman member.

It actually might be hard to come up with FIVE freshman having notable seasons thus far....
THREE guys, Greene, Freeman & Wilkins, are a lock at this time, but the other spots are up for grabs...
I guess the 4th spot would have to go to the Loyola kid since he's started about half their games and does hit a high pct. of 3-pointers
......but I'm not sure who'd get that last spot

-Jared Ridder, Missouri State (RS Freshman) 5.9 ppg
-Cooper Neese, Indiana State (RS Freshman) 5.8 ppg
-Garrett Sturtz, Drake 5.6 ppg
-Szymon Wojcik, Missouri State 5.3 ppg
-Shamar Givance, Indiana State 4.9 ppg

-Ari Boya 2.9 ppg
-Ja'Shon Henry 2.2 ppg
-Armon Brummett 0.5 ppg


as far as the best Sophomores - there's really only three guys standing out - Elijah Childs, Cameron Krutwig & Tyreke Key.
John Hall & Lucas Williamson would probably be the other two if there was a 5-man Team, but Williamson has missed a lot of time
Maybe Berhow would sneak in since Williamson is likely done for the year.

Another sophomore that has played well is Trae Berhow. He is averaging almost 8 ppg and 6 rpg for UNI.

The MVC has both an All Freshman team and an All-Newcomer team among the postseason homors.
In addition to the freshmen listed, there are a bunch of newcomers who are transfers from 4-year schools and jucos who have made an impact and will get some consideration for the All-Newcomer team and Newcomer of the Year- Tulio DaSilva, Keandre Cook, Brady Ellingson, Zach Copeland, and Shea Feehan are all averaging double digits.

I just changed my mind - I am going to add Ja'Shon Henry as one of the best freshmen in the league
...sure hope he keeps up this level of play!!

JaShon’s rebounding technique down low is really effective, and he’s a kid with a stout build and a lot of strength. he could become a beast in our league, especially if he develops a shooting threat. Great recruit.
