Nate Navigato - unofficial visit Thursday 4/23

I counted at least 10 made layups!

I counted at least 10 made layups!

Did any player on the Bradley squad any time these last many years make this many in only one year themselves? I lost count on the threes. Wow. MUST HAVE HIM HERE!!!

I'm all for a gunner who can drain 3's, and I also trust that Coach Wardle will be able to ID kids who can actually compete in the MVC. A lot of these kids have MAC/Horizon type schools going after them. Would feel a little better if we beat out ISU red or ISU blue/Evansville for recruits instead of Buffalo.

BUT!!!!! Player development and finding SKILLED players excites me. Bring on the long range gunner!

I agree. That is why I believe Okafor will be an MVC level point guard. He had originally committed to Mizzou. I'm also confident Suggs will be a contributor during his four years hear. We must all remember, this is late in the recruiting process, for Wardle and his staff to try to recruit players to play in the Valley. Before the Bradley job opened he was recruiting players to play in the Horizion League, which other than the top couple of teams is very much sub par compared to the Valley.

Most the players that sign this late in the spring signing period, are usually players that either have limited offers, bloomed late in their senior season, or the schools they signed earlier with fired the coach and they got released from their LOI.

The Bradley staff is trying to find a way to fill out the roster for the upcoming season, with the best players available. These will be "good" kids that are decent shooters and are fundamentally sound, but may be a little lacking in quickness and/or size. There effort and attitude will help us get through the season

This coming fall is when we can expect to see the impact players that will truly move us to the upper level of the MVC.

I totally agree with the comments....however I believe that Ronnie Suggs will not only be a contributor....I believe that he will be a "STAR"...in this league!

Nate Navigato reportedly has 3 offers since he was released from his commitment to Buffalo- UIC, Bradley, and American.

With UIC just getting a commitment from Julian Torres, perhaps it reduces the chance Nate Navigato considers them. I think new coach Steve McClain still has a scholarship or two to work with, but their incoming freshman class now has 3 big men (6'9" Julian Torres, 6'9" Garrett Bye, and 6'7" Hassan Thomas), plus they have 5 other big men on the roster who appear to be returning.

I would rather see Nate as a walk on. I'm don't believe he can play at the mid to upper level. The schools we are competing with don't impress me (Buffalo, UIC, American). I'd rather save the scholarship. Just my opinion.

not much else left out there and we still have scholarships to fill..

as it looks currently we don't need to bank those scholarships nor get desperate and start taking just anybody -
we should have at least five more open scholarships for 2016..

Most kids don't pass up mid-major scholarships to walk-on at another mid-major school. If Wardle thinks he's good enough, then that's good enough for me.

Plus, prior to his senior year, Nate was not a stand-out basketball player.
Former Buffalo coach Bobby Hurley was able to see potential in him, and he verballed to Buffalo early last fall, 9/18/14. Then Nate had a terrific senior season. I believe if he hadn't already been committed, he would have had lots of higher mid-majors offering. He averaged 20.7 ppg against top-level high school competition. He carried an otherwise average Geneva team to the IHSA state finals, where they finished 4th. Nate is an exceptional perimeter shooter for a big wing player, something Bradley hasn't had for a long time.
According to IHSA stats, he was 73 for 172 from three (42.4%) and he was 54.5% overall. He is also an 84% free throw shooter.

Nate would be a great addition to this already extraordinary recruiting class.

Saw the kid play a couple times, he has good hands, shoots well, and plays the passing lanes on defense for steals like Jeremy Crouch used to. I think he would be a really nice addition.
