Nate Navigato - unofficial visit Thursday 4/23

For years the knock has been that Bradley gets athletes and tries to turn them into players. Nate may not be the most athletic, but he obviously has an advanced skill in his shooting. Plus his height means that he should at minimum be able to spot up and get looks. I think we sign him up, and if he progresses like JC did then awesome.

Amen. How many players has UNI recruited who could SHOOT THE ROCK but weren't stellar athletes? We want shooters (unless GW wants to play 40 min of full court press.

Agreed. Coach Wardle has gotten a nice collection of guards so far in Suggs, DLO, Okafor, and Pittman, but none of those are the pure shooter type we all have been wanting to see at Bradley for a long time.

Next year is going to be a difficult year and we are going to take our lumps. I would rather pocket the scholarship and use it to sign somebody in the fall when our recruiting can be more selective and we can get who we want, not who is the best available. However, if Wardle thinks Nate is a can't miss, he should sign him. At this time I don't think we have the luxury of having projects.

Would really like to land Nate......the lack of a solid 3 pt shooter has hurt the Braves for a long time.....hope we still have a chance of landing him after all a day after his release he visits the Hilltop!:-o

If my math is right we should have 4 scholarships next year, no?

That's interesting...
they talked to Nate Navigato's father on Wednesday and he said...
"The new one that seems to have a lot of interest is Bradley,"
said Dan Navigato, noting his son will likely plan college visits soon."

then, as per the title of this thread, he was on Bradley's campus Thursday....so it seems the visit to Bradley was a priority, even though three of the other schools he mentioned are closer (NIU, ISU, UIC).

I think only three
the current roster has
Joel Okafor
Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye
Ronnie Suggs
Antoine Pittman
Donte Thomas
Ka'Darryl Bell
Mike Shaw
Anthony Fields
Warren Jones
Omari Grier
....that's ten players and if all take scholarships, then we'd have three left to give out

Omari is leaving, so that scholarship will be open.

And Xzavier may return, so that could put it back to 3.

But we have 5 seniors, right? I believe Vent was talking about pocketing it for next year. So we will have 5 for next year, that was what I was referring too. We have 3 left now, and 5 for next year so, hell, if Nate is worth it, give him a shot. We can still go get 5 more next year.

*****Disclaimer***** when I refer to next year, I am referring to 2016-17. Lol!

If Grier is leaving, that would reduce next year's available scholarships by one. Am I missing something?

Your statement confuses me. If Grier left, it would open one more and increase the available scholarships.

No wonder, I am confusing you. I thought Patrick was referring to the 2016 year. I was getting the 2015 season scholarships and the 2016 season scholarships turned around. I think it was the reference to four that did it.

With all that is going on, I still may be confused. You know what they say about us 'old' people.

Want to throw a wrench into the number of scholarships? What if Josh Cunningham changed his mind and decided to stay? Stranger things have happened.

I guess so, but I don't see that happening. Arizona is coming on strong after Josh, as well as a dozen other schools. I am pretty sure that horse has left the barn.
