The Bulls trade their #28 pick and their #43 pick to the MInnesota Timberwolves for the #23 pick of Minnesota Nikola Mirotic, a 6'10" forward who currently plays in Spain. He is originally from Montenegro.-

Mirotic is just 20 years old, and is under contract for another 4 years with his European team, Real Madrid.
The #28 pick that the Bulls traded to Minnesota was Norris Cole, a 6'2" point guard from Cleveland State. The Bulls still have the #30 pick in round 1.

In one other piece of breaking NBA news, Ron Artest has filed legal papers to have his name legally changed to Metta World Peace.

I'm pretty sure P'Allen was somewhere in that mega-trade.
As a matter of fact, if you've ever played basketball, you were somewhere in that scramble.

If you watched Harrellson in the NCAA Tourney you can understand why he was picked. The fact that he is white only helps his cause.

no dice Richmond

no dice Richmond

There can be no way Jeremy Richmond gets drafted.

Former BU recruit Iman Shumpert went #17 to the Knicks. Colin Cowherd spoke on Shumpert today when referring to the Knicks and their GM situation with Donnie Walsh stepping down. Cowherd says "He can't shoot, can't handle the ball, but is athletic and can play defense, just what the Knicks need"

Harrelson is probably the one player whose height was most greatly exaggerated --

I have heard him EVEN referred to as a 7-footer, and frequently as 6-11 or 6-10..

BUT when he was actually measured at the NBA draft combine he was 6' 8.5"

He reminds me of a poor man's Bill Laimbeer or Charles Oakley. I think he has a shot to fill that physical, bad boy role for the Knicks.

Shumpert has a shot to become the "steal" of this draft. He reminds me a lot of Scottie Pippen.

The Shumpert draft pick was one of several that were hard to figure. The Knicks have a lot of needs (point guard is the most pressing), and I am not sure Shumpert really helps much in most areas. Maybe he might become a decent NBA guard eventually, but I don't see him doing much for the next couple years.
But then I'm not sure the Bulls needed to trade to move up to get Nikola Mirotic. He might have been available at #28, #30, or even #43 if they had waited. I suspect they were worried New Jersey would grab him at #27. I guess the Bulls wanted to simply unload those other picks and didn't want any other players beside Jimmy Butler.

Not sure I understand this... Wasn't Mirotic selected by Houston with the 23rd pick. I don't follow the NBA very much so I don't know too much about the draft/trade process.
