I have conversations at the BU games with a whole of of the fans who are NOT regular posters on BradleyFans, and many have never even signed up...
BUT-- every single one (and I stress EVERY ONE) of the people I see regularly at Bradley games, events, and road trips, the people who are the core 5,000
or more BEST and tightest fans....
ALL know of BradleyFans and have visited it plenty...and freely admit to doing so. They are the invisible masses of BU fans who can't be perceived if you think
that the only people here who care are the frequent posters.
So I believe, as is likely quite true at other schools, the message boards are
the gathering place, the "water cooler" or the "teachers' lounge" of college
basketball...and thus the message boards are way more indicative of and
influential on a given team's fanbase than you can easily prove or
demonstrate.
I have also been told this by people in the inner circles at the schools' athletic departments themselves
