--Shorter basketball season to lessen the impact on player academics
"to reduce the number of missed classes and stress on players...too many games and too many road trips"
"considering a reduction in the maximum number of contests from 29 to 28 and restrictions on the number of conference road games that can be played in week"

--possibly required 6-hour summer school for all incoming freshmen and transfers
"six hours of summer school in order for the student-athlete to be eligible to play in the fall"

--more summer access for coaches to players
"more access from coach to student-athlete during the summer – access that under current rules is not permitted."

That's an absolute joke!

What bunk!

If they want to shorten it, reducing from 29 to 28 isn't gonna do it.

They want to shorten the meaningless (in their eye$) regular season and expand their tournament so that they can hog more of the revenue. It's never hard to see what motivates them.

I wouldn't mind seeing a couple less regular season games if they expand the NCAA Tourney to 256 teams. I know some would hate to see #1 Duke destroy #256 Eastern Kentucky in the 1st round. Oh wait, last year Duke beat Eastern Kentucky in a regular season game 78-43.... and I bet it was on tv. ;)
