Dr. Glasser said-
The search has been going on for about 6 months.
They used an executive search firm. They feel they have the best person for the job from about 50 applicants. A number of those applicants were interviewed.

Dr. Cross said-
He was impressed with where Bradley has been concerning athletics, where they want to go, and the overall vision, leadership and quality of the athletics.
He was a basketball player at the University of Buffalo, and spent 1 year as an assistant coach. They were Div II at that time.

Dr. Cross does not have a lot written about him that I can find, but he sounds like he's a good choice....time will tell.

Note this NCAA page shows both Dr. Michael Cross and Dr. Joanne Glasser serving on different NCAA committees. I suspect Dr. Glasser may have met Dr. Cross before, and gotten to know him through these NCAA committees.

The AD played college basketball at Buffalo and was an assistant for a year. Maybe he can replace Merf and teach JL about calling timeouts. His philosophy on timeouts would have been a good follow-up question for today's presser.

I find it a bit strange that they opened the press conference up to questions, and the only question I can remember is one that Dave Reynolds asked.
They announce a new guy that nobody had any knowledge of, and nobody had any questions for him?
Nobody asked when he will move to Peoria, or when he will start and take over running the athletic dept.
I could have thought of many more questions.

Does anyone have a guess how old they think he is? I'd say about mid-40s

President Glasser is not "Dr." Glasser- and I will wait to see what kind of hire Dr. Cross is. I find it funny that people are saying

1. That VHB was "snubbed"

2. That this is a good ole boy - Glasser hiring

I just found that he played basketball at the University of Buffalo from 1987-1990. That would make him about 41 years old.
