New Civic Center scoreboard

And to think, some want to play our games somewhere else...

I know you guys want to see the new scoreboard. So here ya go, a press release put out today by Daktronics shows a picture.

Isn't she a beaut? That screen is twice the size of the screen that previously existed, and is in full HD.

For anyone wondering, the stats for the basketball games and hockey games will be shown on the outsides during the games, and then replays will pry expand to utilize the whole screen.
Thanks friend, it really looks great. Will be a great improvement and fun to watch:D

Winning would be the best improvement we can have. That is something we all can agree on!:D

Your fast my friend:lol: The CC is a great place to watch a game and a new scoreboard just tops it off. If you ever get back, maybe I can leave the wife home and you can have her seat and I will buy the beer:D Oh I sit in the lower bowl, 7 rows up from the end of the BU bench:wink:

Your on! I just need to have my business do an about face and I'll be able to take you up on it. Let's just all hope that the economy goes forward and not into a double dip recession.

With the advent of this new video system, .....

Will the quality of how the game is announced be as equally improved? The GAME is the primary reason for attendance. Correct? Perhaps this coming season will show the realization of the same of and by our very own pat hughes - - - always too much to say - - - clone, paul herzog, we are all indeed at the civic center to WATCH the BU Braves and NOT awaiting the reading of yet another bed time story of nothing-ness. With this comes also my hopes the band has a larger library of songs to play than the same old repertoire of what they have presented in the past.

Looking forward to a scoreboard/clock that won't malfunction and hopefully have a clear resolution on the screen. Can't agree with the slam at Pat Hughes  (since his job is to paint a visual picture on the radio to his listeners)...but do agree that it is time for a new PA announcer for BU who is not so "chatty" and simply does his job and not so full of himself with editorial comments about calls etc...

Most of what PH says he is told to say. I'm not a fan of "thank you as we thank them", "perpetual senior", "make em all!" and that type of stuff, but it's not his fault he has to read ads.

I don't hear all that crap at other college venues...but I suppose it's part of the problem of having to play at an off-campus ice rink/facility that needs to advertise everything to pay their bills  Guess it's all a matter of taste...a couple people who sit by me think he's a hoot-- I would welcome a "new voice" that is less of a tool to go with the new scoreboard--just my opinion.
