ps--- does anyone else remember when they tipped off to start the 2nd half??
Or how about the jump ball after a held ball? I miss that!![]()
How about the jumps that took place near the basket at the free throw circle?
With the physical play they allow today that would be a blood bath...it would be fun to see however.![]()
I personally would like to see jump ball at the half for sure, and maybe even after a tied ball.
Yeah, I'd like to see it with the tie ball, because I don't think you'd see guards trying to tie up centers as often... that being said, I understand it would lengthen the game, and also I think it's pretty tough for refs to make a good throw every time... or something to that effect.
It was a move for "speed-up" purposes once the end-of-game management and TV timeouts were stretching ball games well beyond 2 hours.
...since walking to the circle to tip every time you had a held ball or starting every quarter (in HS ball) or half with a tip, ultimately consumed lots of time.
Nobody slows down a game like Missouri Valley Refs though.![]()
I disagree... I am not expecting 4 star recruits with the new facilities. An occasional 4 star recruit would be nice.Since this is a new facilities thread......it seems like a lot of people on here are magically expecting 4 star recruits to flock to Peoria as soon as we get a new practice facility. People keep saying "Give JL time to work with the new facility". Has anyone seen the basketball facilities at SIU? Not impressive....great recruiting class. I think we're putting too much weight on this. UNI recruited fine when they were in the dome now they have a great building and they suck (also could have to do with the coaching change). I think this may play less of a part than people think.
I imagine once we get about halfway through this 15-year expansion, it will become time for the university to figure out the next move for men's basketball.
