The Bobcat lasted a few years, and was mostly ridiculed. After Ken Kavanagh became the AD in 1996, he got rid of the Bobcat mascot.

The Bobcat lasted all the way into the 2000's - I happen to know the guy that wore the suit the last time and he didn't start going to BU until 99 or 00.

I feel like it was during my sophomore year (99-00) that they slew the bobcat.

Your memory may be better than mine. By that time, after my kids were pretty grown up, I never paid much attention to the Bobcat. I do recall talking to Ken about the Bobcat on a couple occasions, and he strongly disliked it and was instrumental in it's demise.

That bobcat was plain embarrassing and that is the main reason I ever worry about BU having another mascot! For the record, I’m slightly open to the gargoyle and squirrel mascot ideas that have bounced around, but I’m still darn scared about how it might turn out.



I do like having the option of the black uniform and don’t care for the Nike uniforms all that much. I also like the Bradley script as well and would like to see that more.

look -- if we can call ourselves the Braves but use a Bobcat as a mascot, then we can have Red & White as our colors but occasionally use black jerseys!

I don't oppose blacks on OCCASION. No MVC contests, though (Except the ISU game and if we should play ISU in STL.) I'd MUCH rather see a throwback than a black uni, though. Still love the throwback from a couple of years ago. I remember how they got on a winning streak and JL let them keep wearing them. Ah, the good old days. Thought the Black Out idea for ISU away game was cool as well.

Pretty sure that ACBU made that jersey specifically for Posner just for the concert, but I can't say for certain.

Think you can buy these jerseys through the MVC website. Each school has one and not sure who makes them, but little chance they will be classified as "new" team jerseys! LOL
