Clemson wins their first exhibition game in Italy
Very low scoring game, 40-35 w/ 8:23 in the 4th quarter when the game was called due to recurring wet spots on the floor.
Their opponent BC Silute is a Lithuanian team that just completed a 17-23, 12th place season in Lithuania's NKL (2nd tier pro league)
With Clemson's win, Division I teams are now 17-0.

Valparaiso wins their first game in the Bahamas - 66-54 over Carleton
JT Pettigrew 11, Justus McNair 11, Rakim Chaney 10, Kai Yu had 6 pts on 2-2 plus 2 made FT's
Valpo shot 37% overall and 31.6% from 3-pt & 57% on FT's
Carleton shot about the same but only went to the FT line 9 times compared to Valpo getting 28 FT attempts
I don't know why but Carleton's 2 top returning scorers from last year (Havens 16ppg & Milon 12ppg) did not play at all.
They didn't play against Arkansas either- LINK

Games today
8/8 Murray State vs. Maroussi BC at 7am Central (Streaming & stats - More)
Halftime Murray State 51 - Maroussi 48! Maroussi BC is a Greek pro team that finished dead last (6-18) in the Greek pro league. Their starters
played pretty even with Murray State but now the 2nd half Maroussi is playing subs. The play-by-play guys don't even know the opponents' names because
they are just random fill-in players that apparently aren't on Maroussi's roster)

edit - Final score Murray State wins 88-72- Murray State shot 5-21 from 3-pt & had 21 turnovers. The Racers go 2-0 so far in Europe -- weird ending, with Murray State trying to run up the score on Maroussi's deep bench, in the final minutes, the Maroussi players started to just inbounds and hand the ball over to mock them and encourage them to just keep scoring when they already had a 16 point margin and Maroussi was just trying to run out the clock making no effort to score. Looked like it almost ended in a brawl with benches emptying while the clock was running - but the Maroussi players walked off the court with the clock still running and the game hadn't even ended yet. Racers play again Mon & Tues.
Roman Domon had 6 at half and ended with 21, Mark Padjen 11pts.

also Monday 8/10 South Carolina beat Bahamas National Team 86-46 (DI teams now 56-0)
Darius Hannah's brother Davion Hannah played 16 min for South Carolina, scored 5 pts on 1-4 shooting, 2 reb & 4 TO. (Maybe he'd want to come play at Bradley?)
Unfortunately, he appears to be deep in the rotation and in both their games so far, played close to the fewest minutes of any of their scholarship players.

There's some talk elsewhere that Murray State looks unbeatable based on a couple big exhibition wins...
And who knows- maybe they're the team to beat this year BUT.... I recall last summer when they blew out several exhibition opponents
yet they finished as 4 seed and lost game 1 in St. Louis to the 5 seed

Murray State win their final game in France, going 4-0 on their exhibition tour, and US teams go 57-0, almost all have been huge blowouts.
They beat French team Poissy (who play in the 3rd tier of pro ball in France, the NM1) 113-46, Roman Domon had 22 pts, Brigham Rogers had 6 pts & 16 rebounds.
Murray State led by 20 after just the first quarter, outrebounded Poissy 53-23 and forced 28 turnovers.
Norfolk State is the only DI team playing an exhibition game each of the next three days.

This year's Murray State team is deeper, more talented, and more experienced than last year's team. They will be the #1 pick when the poll comes out, and they will be hard to beat in 2026-27. The team they beat Monday was not just a French All-Star team, it was the the French National Team reserve players. The team is comprised of some talented players with high level international pro experience and success. Most of them are in their mid to late 20's and some are in their 30's. France has some of the most talented players of any country outside the US. There have been 20 French players drafted in the NBA draft since 2022, including 5 in 2024 and 6 in 2025. And, there are currently 19 French players in the NBA, including arguably the best player, Victor Wembanyama.
The 110-72 beat down by Murray State was not expected. This article called it a "stunning loss"-
