New Player Intro

This was mentioned in another thread, but I thought is was worth starting a new.

I thought the player intro on the new video boards last night was great. While I was a supporter of the long edition of two years ago, the video from last night was a big upgrade from last year.

My only suggestion would be that the music (please help me with this) that began after the players were actully being introduced needs to start much earlier. The fans are able to clap and cheer to the beat of the music. If it begins earlier it makes for a more energetic player intro IMO.

Agree on all counts. Love the new intro, just gotta start the music sooner. I think that's something they'll have ironed out by Friday.
 
yep start the music sooner....but....where are the live action shots??? It was all pictures with fancy backgrounds...where's the highlight reel that pumps up the players??
 
I liked it, but I agree the music needs to start sooner. It caught me off guard. I was looking around the arena, and hadn't realized the intro had started, my brain was not tuned to respond to the new music.
 
I know I'm in the minority here, but I think it's too long. Embarrassing to have an NBA introduction and then get beat by Platteville. IMO, every team that's has to wait through that enjoys their victory that much more. Play the fight song, introduce the players and go.
 
I liked the new video but I do not like the players coming down the stairs by the band...mark my words....a player will get hurt running down the stairs for intros yet! :wink:

I agree Mike. I don't like that either and am not looking forward to the day someone suffers an injury from such a completely unnecessary event. I also like the shorter video, but would love to see the spotlight on the players' circle during the introductions as it was done last year when I took my avatar picture. And yes....start the music sooner.

maybe we should require the opposing team to run down some stairs before the game instead ;)
 
Honestly? No one agrees with me on the highlights....it was pictures..it was like a video format of the media guide pictures...that doesn't pump players up. I guess I'm on my own...

I agree with you. I definitely like last year's version better. Maybe it will just take some getting used to - though they have changed the intros in the past when we were already well into the season.
 
I thought it was pretty lame compared to other schools and our introduction 2 years ago. The sound system did not coordinate with the video. This looked amateurish and did nothing to excite the crowd. There is better music at the Riverman hockey games.

I don't think the delayed music start was intentional, I think someone goofed in starting it on time. It happened a few times last year where the music didn't start on time and just really threw off the feel of the introductions. They probably have to switch from the video to the music and something didn't switch right probably. It's preseason, maybe they need to do some practicing also lol.

As for the intro video's, I wouldn't mind seeing a cartoon like intro that the Bulls have. Only design it with Peoria's downtown.

I don't know how that would work, I like the Bulls intro video but we don't exactly have a mascot that could go gallivanting around the riverfront
