New Thoughts on how many games BU will win

Post both total and in conference

I say 6 wins in conference and 11-20 final record.

Just not much confidence in what is left and I think 6 conference wins may even be a stretch

10 wins overall

4-14 in the conference

Hope I'm wrong on both predictions but don't think so

My original estimate in that early poll was an optimistic 27-3 but that was with TB and SM (I believe that we'd be 6-0 today if a healthy guard had taken Sam's place earlier, I think that was a coaching mistake) and a belief that our bigs were better and that we were going to be playing a different offensive scheme. So here's my new guess...

non-conference 7-5
conference 12-6

W/L before the MVC Tournament 19-11.

I have to believe that a couple players will step up and take advantage of the added playing time they will get with TB and SM out for the season. It will be interesting to see how he plays it tonight.

:)

I would guess 15 wins overall and .500 in conference.

I still think that the talent is there to be better, but if we see it is another story.

I came up with 14-16 in the regular season looking at the schedule.

I'm not that concerned with W/L, I want to see effort from the kids (50/50 balls, rebounds, defense) no matter what's going on. I want to see the coaches tinker with lineups and work with an eye to development rather than win-now philosophy. I think it's academic and we will see MK and AT a lot more anyway, but if the response to SM being out is 32 minutes each for DSE, DD, AW, and JE I might gnaw my own face off.

No need for that Fish7! I think that JE and WL will split up their 32 minutes! :D

I agree with you there...if I continue to see little coaching from the assistants, continued lack of change from JL, and the same old same old, I am resigned that he should not be here next season...

This is his shot really to change a lot of minds out there and prove that he can coah and can make changes on the fly

How many games will BU win without SM and TB?

Well, BU lost to Quincy at home without these players....

I'd have to say about 10 games fewer than I thought they would with a full roster - 14 games.

We all like the BU kids and their efforts, and, tend to look at their abilities with BU-red colored glasses vis a vis other MVC teams' players.

Unfortunately, BU's roster players, other than AW, have not garnered any recognition in MVC preseason or postseason sportswriters polls.

I'll say 5 games less than my lofty pre-season thoughts is what I'm looking for. We already used 2 of them, so that leaves 3 more surprises left. Both the players and coaches need to step up and take advantage of this unfortunate situation/opportunity. As a life long Rams fan, I'll never forget the day Trent green went down in the pre-season and someone named Kurt Warner stepped up out of nowhere and led us to the Superbowl...

I'm really intrigued how this will turn out and also hoping that I don't have to gnaw my face off in the process...

My hope is that BU will still find a way to finish Top 3 in MVC and find a way to a 20-win season and NIT..... and of course this would make Les MVC COY. :) For the record, this is not something I am counting on or would be willing to bet on.

We may go o for the conference on the road...we are truly a bad team right now and a soft team. Danny Adams was being wayyy too nice to the Catamounts...they are an awful team too. Jackson St may be the only non con game we win the rest of the way. This looks like a MO 9-20 type swan song for Jim this year. No excuse not to stick with the bigs longer during the stretch run up 12 and work the ball iside to draw fouls. They had 11 in 1st half and you only got them 8 more in the 2nd half???cmon jim!!! Its right in front of you!!!! Play 2 bigs at once and go inside-out! What is the da*n obsession with 4 guards??????

Hopefully they make it to 8 wins but doesn't really matter anymore. This team has virtually no chance of winning the MVC tourney and will likely finish 8th-10th in the Valley. Will just be nice to get the youngins some good in game experience before next season.

It's amazing to think that just 1 month ago we were all talkin about a for sure 3rd place or higher finish. Now the season is pretty much over in just 7 games.

sounds about right. this is going to be an ugly, ugly season. bradley fans should be asking a lot of questions about maniscalco. if this was known all summer and into the pre-season, why was he playing at all?

there is less than a 10% chance that this team has a winning record, and they're going to get pounded in the valley.
