The announcers on ESPN2 just previewed the matchup on the 21st and talked about Jim Les and Theron Wilson and our good program. That will be a really tough game.

Who are these guys?. I saw a couple of their games earlier in the year, and they looked lost in their offense
Now they have won @ Creighton , @ Evansvile, and now @ Drake for,for what I believe is their 4th Road win.
They look very-very efficient.
To stay in the game with them next Wednesday, we will have to bring our A+ defensive game.
N. Iowa 61- Drake 28 14 minute left?
The Panthers are the real deal!

What scares me with this team is that if they run away with the title like Drake did last year, the Valley could very well be a one bid league again. The whipping UNI is putting on Drake, while greatly helping their case for an at-large bid, will only contribute to the reputation of the Valley being a "mediocre" conference with teams beating up on each other. That's why one or two other teams need to keep up with UNI, and hopefully knock them back a peg or two in the coming weeks.

I don't know how we beat UNI next week, but we did take out Drake at Drake last year. So it is possible. But let's take care of SIU tomorrow first, and then we can worry about UNI next.

The reality of the situation is N. Iowa is not really this good, nor is Drake really this bad. Really!

UNI had built their 5-1 conference record playing an even WORSE mix of lower end Valley teams than BU has played.

UNI's Valley opponents were previously 12-26 and include only ONE team above .500

BU's opponents are13-23 and we've beated ISU and played Creighton
(two 500+ teams)

UNI's RPI is still over 100 for a reason, they have played very bad at times...
they lost at Indiana State where Bradley won handily...
but they are on a hot streak.....
it will be Bradley's job to stop their streak.

Yeah, but they did win at Creighton, and despite their RPI, they are playing as good as anyone in the Valley, winning road games against some good teams. Yes, I would not consider Evansville and SIU great, but they are road wins nonetheless. And Creighton and Drake will be in some sort of postseason. So we will need to play our best game of the year to beat these guys at their place, and play a great game just to beat them at home.

I think we are capable of beating them in their place, but I'm not selling these guys short at all, especially after what they just did to Drake.

UNI really hasn't beaten anyone good on the road this year. They really got lucky multiple times in that they caught SIU with their pants down after the InSU game that UNI lost. Then, they beat Wichita at home in a blow out that was a poorly played game by the Shockers, turning it over a ton. Then, they went to Creighton and they just toyed with us too long and UNI got the 'W' by luck as Witter or Booker (can't remember which one) missed two FT's late in the game, snapping his 36 straight FT streak. Then, they knocked out an injury proned Missouri State team. The game at Evansville (to snap their inflated 10 game home win streak) was again, very lucky as they held Shy Ely and Holsinger to a poor %. Same thing happened against Drake, who also has an inflated record due to a weak non-con, and UNI held Josh Young to just a couple FG attempts.

Let's be honest, only UNI and Bradley actually pushed themselves in the non-conference portion of their schedule, which is why Bradley (who has more athleticism) will probably have a great rest of the week and be in 1st at the end of next week. I just hope UNI can keep it close with Bradley Wednesday.

Say what you wish about WHO they have beat compared to BU but they have won @ CU and are killing @ DU. That alone tells me they are for real.

We have squeaked by @ the bottom 3 in the conference.....I'm still happy with that but to win where UNI has says enough.

PTTB...you just being nice...you should be high on your team right now...they seem to have it going in the right direction.....but right now I'm going to only worry about siu ,...if you know hahat I mean...we Braves can only look at one game at a time with little margin of error!

Funny stuff....

For the record 99% of BU fans understand UNI is for real. I just don't want you to run back to the UNI board and say..."BU fans think UNI hasn't beat anyone." NOT that it matters what the fans think but we won't overlook UNI. But first we have an equally tough game with SIU.

As far as the team....JL won't look past SIU and will deal with and respect UNI afterwards.

I think he's just yanking our chain Mike.....and you and I can look past SIU. THe team can't and won't though.

I can't look past siu dogs...maybe you can...seems they bring out their A game against us at home.....sundays game worries me!

Maybe the home loss to Indy St to start conference play woke something up in UNI. Maybe they are just on one of those red hot streaks that happen from time to time. Maybe both, who knows. Not many people figured UNI to be a player this year in the league, but they are certainly turning a lot of heads right now.

No matter what, I will say that lighting anyone up on the road that bad, in this league, is impressive.
