Anyone know how the tiebreaker falls between UNI and WSU? While WSU continues to be a trainwreck, I would rather play UNI in the 4-5 matinee. Either way though, not playing on Saturday would be a tremendous disappointment.
According to the MVC Tiebreaker formula--
http://www.mvc-sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=7600&KEY=&ATCLID=274386&SPID=2901&SPSID=41239
Since UNI and WSU each won on the other's floor, it would go to the Power Rating System.
UNI has a total of 76 Power points right now, and
Wichita State has 64. So if they were tied (and UNI is currently 1 game behind WSU), UNI has the tiebreaker if the season ended now.
However, even considering all the scenarios in the 2 games they have left, UNI would still have the tiebreaker if the 2 teams ended in a tie--
WSU has games against MSU at home and against Creighton on the road, and UNI has their 2 remaining games at Bradley and home against Illinois State. But in order for them to finish in a tie, either of these 2 scenarios would have to happen--
UNI would have to win 2 games, and Wichita State just 1 more. If that happened, UNI would pick up 14+3 more points. Wichita would pick up either 18 if they won at CU or 15 if they beat MSU. So there is no way they could overtake UNI in Power points.
Or UNI would have to win 1 game, and WSU none. In that case, WSU could not overtake UNI either.
So even with 2 games left, there is no way WSU could overtake UNI for the tiebreaker. So assuming they finish in 4th, Bradley will play Wichita if they finish in 5th alone, or they will play UNI if there is a tie or if UNI finishes 5th alone.
