Newest Bradley player- Ahmet Jonović

I’d say if homeboy is a top 7 or 8 player on this team and can help them win more games you let him play ASAP. If he’s a project redshirt all day. These are things that are obvious I know, but this team has the above average chance to make it to the tournament. If my man can help them get there and possbily
win games there is no reason to stash him in a polo.

Starting a new thread dedicated to the newest Bradley player...
From multiple sources close to the team, I've been told he will arrive in Peoria shortly, and join the team.
We'll be able to reveal more about him and his identity shortly.
:)

Hi Da Coach,

Will this player be able to suit up and play for BU right away?

Thanks for keeping us up to date!!! :)

I think everyone needs to remember that he needs to learn all the plays and system the present players have been working at all season. It maybe a little while before he can contribute much

With our front line he doesn’t need to make major contributions now. If he can give us a few minutes at first and be ready to contribute by Saint Louis we have a winner. In one of the videos I couldn’t help but notice how quick he was moving his feet on defense. He has the body, he has the work ethic, he has the Coaches, he has the right teammates and he is now part of a pretty big BU family.

I am so excited about Ahmet's arrival! My expectations for his production this year are low, but I think he will be a great practice sparring partner for Rienk, as I'm sure Ari was the last couple of years. It will be good preparation for when we face centers of that size (hopefully) later in March. And Rienk can teach him a lot about passing, defensive positioning, post moves, etc.

I also think the fan base is really going to embrace Ahmet and that will only grow as he develops. Welcome to the U.S. and to BU!

And despite reports I've seen elsewhere that foreign players are not allowed to receive NIL benefits, Ahmet Jonović has signed a deal with the Home of the Braves NIL group-

Foreign players are able to monetize their name, image, and likeness via NCAA rules. The issue is that they are on a student visa which prohibits many types of income off-campus. They are able to earn income when they are not on their student visa - so basically anytime, anywhere except when they are in the United States.

Plus the league he played in was full of adults... should be ready to go against college player's!:-o;):mrgreen::mrgreen:

I am excited to see Ahmet play. He has a lot to learn having only been here for a few days but he must have a good upside if they are bringing him in mid season. Hopefully he can contribute by the end of the season.

Generally any 7-footer in the Valley is a going to be a bit of a project but he seems to have decent hands and is more mobile than I expected. Hard to tell from only a few videos.
