News Flash-- re:Andrew Warren

Like the article states; A.Warren already knows the system Bradley runs there is no reason for him to take any chances of re-injury, this will give us a better chance to see more of the new guys and which one of them is ready to contribute now, look at how much Ruffins missed games last season gave Sam M. more time on the floor to prove that he was ready to contribute as a freshman last year.

I agree with you here, I actually think Warren not playing until UIC makes sense. It gives some of our other players time to get used to playing in front of a crowd in our system, and still gives Warren a game before UF. Warren knowing the system is very important in the thought process here, were this Dodie, or CR my tune would be very different. We need to almost sweep non-con save MSU and UF IMO if we want to have a good shot at an at-large.

I agree, if we go 9-2 in non-conf. with both losses to MSU & UF we will be ok depending on how many conference wins we get and how we do at St. Louis.

AW needs to be 100% by the Florida game period. Rushing him any sooner would be a huge mistake. I really like the way our staff takes care of our players. I have yet seen us do anything that has been even the slightest bit questionable when it comes to the physical welfare of our players.

It is more important, in my opinion, that we avoid a loss against UIC. So, I hope the team is trying to target that game to have him back...otherwise they should just sit him until the UMKC game 10 days later...

Losing at home to UIC would be a huge hit to any at-large hopes...
Losing on the road to Florida, which is pretty likely to happen with or without AW (being realistic), won't show up as a black mark on our resume by year end.

So, from my perspective, if AW isn't ready to contribute against UIC, then the best course of action, in the big picture, would be to sit him for the Florida game to give him an extra 10 days to get ready for the UMKC game.

While it would be great to throw everything we have at trying to win one of the non-con games that we aren't expected to win (FLA)...I think it is far more important to our post-season hopes if we can avoid a home loss in a game that we aren't expected to lose (UIC).

I would love to see AW ready for Florida while Coach Les tells Wessler he won't play.

Everyone needs to be 100% for the conference season, period. It's the only way into the tournament this year, and in most years, conference performance is what ultimately decides your postseason fate.
