Feel free to add your own thoughts about the next Bradley game. That includes our DePaul visitors.

Bradley is hoping for a sellout, and is planning for a "Red Out" at the game. Commemorative Sweet 16 tee-shirts and Sweet 16 rally towels will be given out to those who attend. Bradley will celebrate the team???‚¬?„?s run to the 2006 NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in a pregame ceremony, which will include the unveiling of a new rafters banner. In addition ???‚¬?“Quick Change???‚¬?? will perform during halftime. Tickets are still available.

DePaul visits Saturday, Nov. 11 at 7pm in the first official game of 2006-2007. The game will be televised by WEEK/channel 25.
Bradley beat DePaul in the first game last year 75-60 at the Allstate Arena. Patrick O'Bryant and Will Franklin did not play in that game, but the top 3 scorers for Bradley were guys who have since graduated-- Sommerville [17 pts], Wright [13], Bennett [18].
Nearly all of DePaul players of significance are back from last year's team. Here is the box score from last year's game--

The only 2 new players on their roster are 2 freshmen- Thijin Moses, a former Bradley recruit, and Will Walker.

Thijin Moses played just 2 minutes and was scoreless against Lewis, but he did play 10 minutes and score 7 points in their first exhibition game against St. Ambrose (DePaul won 89-73). Will Walker played 14 minutes Saturday and scored 2 points on 1-7 shooting.

Sammy Mejia, who I think is their most talented player, played 39 minutes against Lewis in this exhibition game! and Sophomore Wilson Chandler (who scored 28 points in their first exhibition game) played 37 minutes against Lewis. Coach Jerry Wainwright really wanted to win this game.

I think DePaul will be much better this year. So though this one's at Carver, I think it will be a tougher game for the Braves.

I really wish I could be there but Bradley Hockey has a game that night also. :cry: If someone wants to snag me a shirt and rally towel though, that would be great. :D

Matt Salley 5 points, 9.5 rebounds per game

Zach Andrews 20.5 points, 9 rebounds per game

Will Franklin 13.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3 assists per game

Jeremy Crouch 11.5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists per game

Daniel Ruffin 22 points, 10 assists, 3 steals per game

Mike, I have a good deal of admiration for DePaul fans for several reasons.
They are decent fans who haven't slung the trash and troll that we saw coming from Kansas fans.
They are patient and have waited a long time for a big season.
And they have been, for the most part, rather complimentary of BU and Jim Les.
I haven't seen the insults like we see on the other MVC boards and on the KU board.
I have followed their message boards for several years, and although board posters represent onnly one segment of their fans, they are well informed, passionate in a positive way, and the give a fair amount of respect to their opponents such as Bradley.
I wish them well the entire rest of the season after the BU game!! :lol: :lol:

And Mike, I actually think a few of their fans have some worries that their own team could be shaky, "they lack confidence".
 
Well BU-DePaul is always a big game here for everyone's old pal VromanFan.

Growing up in Chicago DePaul was my team. Probably the first Bradley game I ever saw on TV was when Tom Kleinschmidt (sp.?) and my Demons came down to Carver and got thumped.

My allegiance obviously changed when I enrolled here in '95, just in time for our second most recent NCAA team. Watching MY OWN SCHOOL'S team on TV beating up on (literally and figuratively) the 3 ranked team from Philly early that season sealed the deal...I've been a "Vromaniac" and later a "Lesticle" ever since.

But ironically I went home for a post grad degree at DePaul. Back living in the Chi I saw Q dominate and leave and Lance get fat and worse. So in the whole wide world these are my #1 and #2 favorite college teams. No dispute between those slots however lets be clear on that kids...

Was very happy when my girl Jean Lenti decided to renew the series (not like them punks Bradshaw and Kennedy!)

It has been an excellent string of games...does anyone know if the series will continue past this year?

I wouldn't be offended by them saying we're a "lesser team." When it comes to pure talent...they might have a point.

I think it will be a good game. I think we will continue to have the Big East's number myself...

They've considered us a 'lesser' opponent ever since the series was renewed. We've kicked their rear-ends 5 of the 6 halves we've played them, resulting in one give-away game and 2 consecutive @ss-kickings. Looking at the rest of their non-conference schedule, plus their upcoming Big East slate, it's no wonder they might overlook us...again. Personally, I hope they do. If they respected us and marked us down as a 'big' game, we might be in for a long night at Carver. However, they haven't, and I know we have. See you on Saturday!

That was a big game for the BU program. It signalled that things were getting turned around. I was in the Molinarmy for that and it went nuts when Kleinschmidt received his technical foul. He was the best player out there and he went from two fouls to four fouls in an instant.
 
Tom Kleinschmidt was a nice player, and would have been a better player and scorer if DePaul had a decent point guard who helped create shots for the team. But he was never the star that many people expected him to be. He was always a little bit overrated as a player, and mostly incapable of creating his own shots.

He has spent the last 5 years playing for a bad Japanese pro team--

They did have a decent point guard. His name was Howard Nathan. Unfortunately, he flunked out after just 1 year.

That's not semi-pro, is it? I was under the impression that the ABA paid its players a set rate.

The minor leagues are still professional. Semi-pro clubs would give its players a percentage of the gate, and probably make them pay for their own uniforms and equipment. Playing semi-pro ball often costs you money....
