This one will be tough...Oakland is much better than Austin Peay. In my opinion, the winner of the BU/Oakland game should win the CIT.

Kangas can light it up from 3, and Benson can kill you inside...DC and SS must come to play Monday. In addition, Johnathon Jones leads the nation in assists.

Maybe I'm just jaded or naive...... but I could NEVER imagine Bradley losing to a team from Oakland MICHIGAN :o.

It is SO obvious to me that Bradley and ODU are THE class of this CIT!

I don't know IF your are jaded but this one will be tough. BU better come ready to play.

Hit some free throws and grab some defensive rebounds.......

They seem to be a very classy group of fans! Here's a sample of what they're saying.....

"This is a good school with proven success in the past (didn't they win an NCAA tourney game at the Palace a few years back???) and they play in a good league. They play good at home as well."

"Really exciting to play a MVC team, because I've always secretly wondered how we'd match up against them, considering we could be a great fit in that conference one day. on a side not, they lost to UMKC this year

"

"the ONE thing I do like about the CIT is that fact that we are able to play some other quality mid-majors. Mid-majors that we have not played before and playing teams from leagues that I wondered how we would fare against."

Oakland University is very close to the Palace at Auburn Hills in the northern suburbs of Detroit. The team hotel that the Bradley team, and I stayed at 3 years ago was actually right across the street from the Oakland University campus.
And the basketball floor that was installed at the Palace was Oakland's regular basketball floor that was moved there for the NCAA regional.

One other interesting connection-
Erik Kangas, Oakland's leading scorer at 18.7 ppg and best 3-point shooter (42%), is a senior from Dewitt, Michigan.-

Kangas has already been invited to participate in the NCAA three-point competetion at the Palace at Auburn Hills on Thurs., April 2 at 7:30 p.m.:

Just to show that Jim Les has an eye for shooters and for talent, Coach Les recruited Kangas out of high school 4 years ago, before he committed to Oakland.--

If BU wins by less than 10 I will be disappointed. This should be a 20+ point victory at home.

(Glad to see ya back MacabreMob;) )

I can't agree w/ this....Oakland is a good team, shoots the 3 plenty, rebounds well, and moves the ball well....all of which tend to give us problems at times...

The only positive is that it looks as though Kent State would have won if they had made their free throws....

I myself am just simply excited to see another higher scoring game and possibly another group of decent officials...

I don't know if this has been mentioned much as of late but the officials in our conference really s*ck!

Sam's sore knee worries me a little.
Dodie's hand doesn't seem to be much better.

I think a key game plan for Bradley would be to establish the penetration to get fouled and get to the line early and often... and MAKE FREE THROWS.

(btw - tks, was a rough start to the week)

All the games will be tough to win as most of the teams in this tour. are above ave. teams that are trying to keep their season from ending. We need to play like it is our last game of the year as it will be if we don"t win.

You must be devastated then that we only beat Austin Peay by 7 at home, because Oakland is a far superior team to Austin Peay.

I was VERY disappointed; you've not heard me say one good word about last night's game. It was obvious to me that we outclassed that APU team in every way. To me, they looked like an inferior team from an inferior conference playing a low-major level of ball. If not for our "out of the ordinary" outside shooting we would have lost. We looked flat, rusty, out-of-sync, and played terrible defense with questionable lineups at times.

I still hold to my statement that we will outclass Oakland as well and SHOULD win easily at home. I think now that we've knocked the rust off we will win by 20+! Time will tell if I'm right..... or if I have an over-inflated opinion of our boys.
