Nice article :D Let's hope the Yuba to Bradley tradition continues. When we make it to Oakland hopefully we'll be able to see you, Coach.

It's a great article. The Sacramento people have fond memories of Jim Les, who played 4 seasons for the Sacramento Kings, and helped coach the Sacramento Monarchs of the WNBA. Zach Andrews and Lawrence Wright also have a connection to the Sacramento area (Zach attended high school in Sacramento and both attended nearby Yuba College).

Looks like the secret is out. JuCo junction has their lead article today about Coach Cornelius' top Division I prospects. It is a premium article, and I don't have a current subscription. I can't tell which players the article is about but I am sure one of them is Mareceo Rutledge.

Maybe Coach Corn can give us some insight?

Your guess is as good as mine. They never called me on this one. If anyone has a subscription Id love to know what it says through PM.

I was able to access the Rivals/ JuCo Junction article above. It is a nice story about the Yuba star Mareceo Rutledge and how he was out of basketball for 2 years while he worked a job after high school. But Coach Cornelius kept in touch with him and he finally decided to give school one more try this year. And he has had a fantastic season and is a candidate for the California Player of the Year.

Mareceo Rutledge finished the season with 23.2 ppg average, shooting .545 from the floor (192-352) and .480 on his three-point attempts (86-179). He also averaged 4.8 rebounds per game and 3 assists a game. And despite some academic issues in the past, he is a 3.3 GPA student. The article says he has gotten interest from a number of Division 1 teams, and Utah has already offered.

The article also mentions several other players on the Yuba team-
6-6, 250 forward Trevor Pitts is averaging 10.0 ppg. and 6.8 rpg. He is gettine Div II interest.
6-8 B.J. Visman - who is averaging 12.6 and 7.9 and getting looks from Irvine, Butler, Bradley, Vermont, Sacramento State and Brown.
And they also mention Mareceo's brother, Martelee Rutledge who has potential.

The rest of the article tells a little about Coach Cornelius and how he resurrected a "long dormant Yuba program", and details his success the past 4 years. It is very complimentary!

Coach, are you sure you didn't write this? Just kidding
