NIT changes rules regarding bids

Well this is just depressing. No teams are more deserving than the wealthy B10 and SEC teams for undeserving bids.

I feel like this makes me feel that the NCAA would cheer for Goliath over David and then ban the sling after David won to “Even the playing field”.
 
Ahh yet another way to hose the non power 6 teams. Goodman’s note says the top 2 net ranking teams from each of the power 6 get in no matter their record and get to host a game. What a crock. Finish 9th in the big ten and get a home game.
 
Wow!!! stating they are only going to give 2 teams from 6 conferences? This is supposed to be for all of Division basketball. Blatant favoritism. All the other teams in the "other " conferences should be raising holy hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree, but I doubt it would do any good. NIT and NCAA are for profits. They could care less about quality of play, or seeing the best teams play. It’s about boosting the number of viewers which results in higher advertising dollars. The turd that came up with this idea probably got a big fat raise and a corner office.

The Mid-Majors and all the other schools should all stand up and say enough. Majority rules supposedly in most other scenarios but the NCAA ignores that. They need to stop with there favoritism. They are supposed to represent all colleges and universities
 
The NIT is no longer a prestigious tour. and these changes were made simply because a mid major program won this tour. last season . There were many BCS schools in it last year simply because of their name and not because they earned those berths. How do you ever justify teams with 500 records or worse getting spots in these tournaments.
 
I guarantee that the final four including North Texas, UAB, and Utah Valley did not sit well with the powers that be.

That's a good thought, Ollie, I think you are right. That new tournament's intent is to grab a bunch of Power Conference schools that did not make the NCAA, and they will go against the NIT for TV audiences and sponsors. No doubt it would hurt the NIT. So it makes sense the NIT would want to have a lot more open slots to take those schools to lessen the damage the new tournament would do to them. It's always about money, and not necessarily what is fair or right.
