Off Topic: Charlton Heston

Since it is somewhat sports-related, I thought I'd mention...
they showed some clips from Charlton Heston's movies in the TV coverage, and one of his scenes,
the chariot race from Ben-Hur is considered by many to be the best scene ever filmed for a movie,
it was pretty realistic and thankfully no cartoonie CG effects!!

Yes, amazing how realistic that was compared to some of today's movies. I, like Jeremy Crouch, am a big James Bond fan. Casino Royale had great action scenes without the goofy CGI (not CBI, btw ;) ). But the Bond movie before that, Die Another Day, had the most hideous looking CGI effects I have ever seen!

They were so bad, the parting of the Red Sea scene in the Ten Commandments looked far more realistic in comparison!
