Offers for 2026

For the 2026-27 season, Bradley should have a minimum of 4 or 5 open scholarships and likely 6, 7 or maybe 8+ if the limit of 15 is utilized....

Here are the players who are almost sure to be out of eligibility:
Jonovic, Huibregtse, AJ Smith

Corey Thomas could be out of eligibility, as the waiver for the juco year was ONLY granted for those athletes whose eligibility expired at the end of 2024-25. However, it is possible NCAA could grant it again to next year's athletes also.
Then, of course, someone could leave unexpectedly, but all that isn't worth debating at this point with so many changes coming. Likewise, future rulings or clarifications could give AJ Smith (same as Christian Davis) one more year for playing at a school that was still transitioning from DII.

So, just for the heck of it- here are the limited number of recruits that I can find who appear to hold a Bradley offer for 2026: (lmk if there's someone I missed)

Isaiah Wilks - LINK
Race Kowalczyk - LINK
Lyris Robinson - LINK (there was debate if he is 2026 or 2027. For now he is posting that he is 2027,
......altho formerly he was listed as 2026 so I will throw him in here for now)
Zavier Zens - LINK

Jaxon Clark (?) - visited Bradley but can not confirm offer - LINK

Hopefully we can add more soon...

I have a good feeling about Zavier Zens
from published reports, Zens would like to play for his home school, Wisconsin, but they recruited him all spring, hosted
him for a visit then have not yet offered. Which maybe means if he decides to commit this fall, he'd be choosing between several
good midmajors - Bradley being one of them, but also Toledo, UNI, Miami (OH), Wyoming, Colorado State, ISU...
Let's hope we beat out Jimmie for this guy!

since 2017:
Jacobson- 140-112, 86-63, zero NCAA bids, 2 NIT
Wardle--- 168-100, 90-60, 2 NCAA, 3 NIT

no doubt these are the two best coaches in the MVC

Yet many, including Bradley fans, still think of Jacobson as the best coach in the league. Phooey, I say.

well, I think you have to look at the obstacles Brian Wardle has had to overcome and yet in a decade at Bradley
has produced arguably just as good of success and numbers as Ben Jacobson has at UNI.
Both schools are difficult to recruit to - but Brian Wardle has had to do something few if any DI head coaches
have ever faced. 1st, he had to do a complete, 100% rebuild with all new players of a program that was so thoroughly
destroyed by the worst administration, President & AD in the history of college basketball. Nothing Ben has faced
even comes close. Then 6 years in, Wardle again had to deal with meddling and interference in the program by yet another hapless
President who overreacted and banned the best player Wardle had ever recruited to Bradley (Childs), rushing to CYA judgement
based on false accusations. It cost Bradley severely much of two seasons, before we recovered.

When a coach has been elected MVC coach of the year four different times he must have something going for him. I believe he took a team deep into the NCAA tournament. However, at my age the memory is not as good as it used to be

This year will be interesting as Wardle COULD face some trouble in pulling his new players, especially freshmen and sophomores, into a cohesive unit before the MVC tournaament. He has to train the new staff in his way of doing things and how he expects them to help during games.

The most impressive thing about Jacobsen is that he does what he does with mostly Iowa kids, and beyond that, the guy has consistently turned down big contract offers from bigger schools to stay where he's at. That alone makes me like the guy (except when we're playing them, of course).

Love ya, but that's not really accurate Tommy. Jake has 11 players on this year's roster NOT from Iowa and that has also been the case for the past few years. He DOES tend to have a lot of WHITE players which might easily give someone the impression that they're from Iowa.

This past season UNI lost four top players to the portal, including their two top scorers (Heise, Born, Wolf, Henry) plus lost two other starters (Bond, Taylor) to injury and still won 20 games and battled Bradley for 2nd place in the Valley.
In 15 of the last 16 years he’d be COY.

Maybe you're onto something with the white thing. I thought all white people were from Iowa! ;)
