Official apology thread for those who said DC is "a bust", or "wasted scholie"

come on benn...give him some credit....that bad bearcat team you talk of was as big as the chicago bears and had doubled us up on the boards when DC came in.....that team outrebounds everyone they play win or lose!

Cincy Did Hav Some Bi Boys In There Though. They Did Outrebound Heir Oppenents This Year By Over 3.5 Per Game If I Remember Correctly. And They Do Play In The Big East With Hibbert And Thaebet. Either Way These Guys Are Probabl Better Than Half Our Competition This Year

So that explains why Cincinnati had so many turnovers.:p

You left that one wide open Big Mike!;)

I did say he had a decent game though... Just not ready to annoint him as the next Joe Allen.

I had to do a double-take when I saw DC run down the court because I didn't catch the announcers mention his name when he came in. Nice game David! :D

I still believe DC was the secret sauce that could have made this season turn out much better than it has. I also suggested that he might transfer at the end of the year because I am a big fan of DC and would like to see him end up at a school that will play him. I would love for that school to be Bradley ... maybe tonight is an indication that DC has a spot on JL's roster next year. If so, I think DC is the secret sauce for next year!

Just like at the beginning of the year he had some nice post moves and ran the floor well. He still didnt box out or rebound well. To date he is still not there IMO, that doesnt mean he wont be a fator next year. Coach Les is on record as saying AT will start at the 5, if Wilson remains at the 4 with Austin and Singh it may be hard for DC to get minutes next year unless he gets much much better especially at rebounding and D. After the UIC game I thought DC would be a major factor this year, had he been we might be playing tomorrow instead of today.

I really enjoyed the game. Thank god for some of the season ticket holders not getting their tickets. I GOT TO SIT IN THE FRONT ROW! DC was OK tonight, but he couldn't guard Williamson at all. He is by no means a wasted scholarship, I see the flashes of greatness out of him, he just needs a mean streak and a move and he could be dominant.

question....did you give up on Jeff Rabey his Jr year?

Honestly.... Yes

Still wanted/hoped he would improve though...

Same with DC.--Havent given up but really hope that DC has the fire and desire to improve his game to make quality contributions next year.

He is not a bust. However he is not the low post presence we need. I think he could be a good back up, give us 13-17 mins a game. I just hope AT is as good as JL and others are saying, heck I would take half as good as some are saying!

Good game tonight, nice game and it gets us closer to that 20 win season!

David played well tonight and it was good to see him have some confidence in his play. He still has a long way to go however, he was getting pushed off the block on both ends and doesn't show the intensity on the defensive end of the floor to be a good rebounder. With that said, I'm happy that he seems to have improved and I hope he continues to get better and has a place in the roatation next season.

DC's strength seems to be his explosive athleticism. Tonight he had a really quick post move for a made hook shot. Earlier in the year that move was in slo-mo and the defender would push him out another 4' by the time he got the ball off.

DC, Keep the petal to the metal!

I've probably bashed DC. I think I've bashed just about every player at one time or another. But only because I know their potential. My apologies to DC anyway.

But I still am a strong advocate of the fact that he should have been under that basket in that home loss to Drake.

I think the term 'bust' is relative to what one expected from him after seeing him play. After seeing his first few games, I expected him to crack the starting lineup. While at first I was mystified as to why it didn't happen, it started to make more sense as to why - He was just clueless on defense. Now, I still didn't think it was enough to banish him to 10th man mop-up duty. But, when I heard that he was getting outworked in practice by all of the other bigs, it made more sense. I personally think it's a little premature to label anyone a 'bust' after 1/2 a season, although you do usually expect JUCO's to be ready to give a little more than 10th man minutes. Tonight DC showed us why we got excited about him early on, but also why his minutes were probably limited quite a bit. I was very happy to happy to see JL give minutes to guys who are part of the future. I think it really maximizes the value of a postseason tournament like the CBI. There's nothing but positives that can come out of this that I think can carry over to next year, and DC was a positive from tonight.

I thought he played well considering he hadn't seen the court in months. Looked very good on offense, and a bit shaky on the other end. He is a fantastically quick 7 footer though. Hope he can build off of this.

Yeah, I was shocked to see DC get so many minutes. I think tonight was the first time i've seen him dribble the ball down low to get in a better position. In the beginning it was just catch and chuck it in. Maybe it's that fire getting started. On the defensive end, the jury is undecided. He looked a little lost a few times and it didn't matter as the FT was made but he would of given up at least 3 offensive boards on the tail end of 1 & 1's as he was cleanly boxed out. I think we could of went down low to him more as he had great position multiple times and the lob pass was there but it just didn't happen. I'd like to see him more with whatever many games we have left and then work on his defensive skills in the off season.

No not at all.......I've watched DC all year and sit pretty close to the bench and see his expressions and it doesn't seem like he has any fire to really be a force...maybe that will come around I hope it does....but he played 12 min and was 2-4 with1 rebound and still has some work to do defensively and rebounding IMO...this was better than some performances earlier but we will see if it's the start of something good or not

Lefty, DC is by nature a quiet low key guy. Anytime I see him out and about, he always has the same emotionless look on his face and i've heard from others that he is your normal joe quiet person when having a conversation with him. He's just not your guy to get fired up on the court. I know it's a bad analogy skill wise but Tim Duncan comes to mind. He always has that same face on and rarely gets fired up on a good play or whatever.

I was the president of the DC fan club during the beginning of the season when he was playing 10-12 minurtes a game and putting up some good numbers. Then in the middle of the season I was upset that he wasnt playing. Towards the end of the season I was getting upset with DC but understood why he wasnt doing well playing 2-5 minutes a game and never really getting a chance to prove himself. I am glad he got the minutes tonight that he got in the begining of the year to give him some confidence going into next season. FINISH STRONG DC!!!!

My thoughts exactly!

DC brings some good offensive skills in the post which is a plus. His defense was a little better tonight, but he still had problems rebounding on defense. If he continues to work over the summer, I think he could get some minutes next year. Glad to see him in the game to give him some motivation for next year.
