Oh well

We lost to a top 15 team on the road. This was not a game I expected to win so I cant be that mad. It does make the UIC loss even worse since we are now 2-2 versus the Horizan league.

A few points

Ruff is good but I think we can put to rest any thoughts of him being one of the five best pg in the country. We need him to play big in the big games while we still have a chance to win.

JC cant create his own shot and with team focusing in on him he is being exposed

Warren has more talent IMO then both Ruff and JC but needs the heart, fire and desire to be consitant on both ends every game

Sam is good and will be a fine player for BU but will he ever be able to guard his quicker coutner parts? I hope so

Salley had ten boards tonight but thats not so hard when you miss as many shots as we did. He is part of a trio of big man who have no post moves and never warrant a double team...quick name the other two

Wilson = Boogie a nice 6th man with engery

This team is NOT as talented as the 06 team no way. We really miss Will Franklin and I thought and still think TCS has the talent to be that guy but I am starting to think he will never do it.

Lets win every game the rest of the year at home steal a few on the road and see how things play out. We have shown we can win away from Carver so that gives me hope to beat the bottom of the MVC.

I know JL is making a point....but get DC back into the game....I think he left with 2 quick fouls and never returned? SS is OK but how many bunnies can you miss and still play? RA cannot be that far behind SS,DC or WE........it has to be something else? MS better learn to watch his temper...I'm not very happy with his cheap punch to the gut of the bulter kid! When the 3's are not falling it would be nice to have and inside game to go to....get DC on the court....please!

Will Egolf, Sam Singh, D, Collins and Matt Salley need to start contributing more offensively and be more aggressive on the boards; I liked the fight I saw in Salley tonight and wish the rest of our big men would get some of that in them, if Matt was a better finisher he would of had 20 points tonight.

Nice post Big Mike... I agree... At the very least, I think and have said for a while that Austin should be taking some minutes away from Will Egolf. RA cant be too far behind what I have seen recently from WE. At the very least, we can see what RA can do in a game situation. As for Collins, if DC srews up an assingment or on defense, yank him out of the game, coach him up on the pine, and then get DC back in the flow of the game.

Hopefully BU can play well Saturday and get their record to 8-4 going into MVC play. Then 11 or 12 wins in the MVC plus a Bracket Buster win still gives them 20 or 21 wins going to St. Louis. 1 or 2 wins in STL is not an unreasonable expectation, and maybe another 1 or more in postseason play would mean a 24 or 25 win season.

Considering the weaker MVC this year, and the fact that Jim Les teams have tended to get better in the 2nd half of seasons, this scenario is still do-able. That would be the most wins by any Jim Les team.

Let's go Braves!

Not to mention we would of had enough to beat SIU at home and on the road tonight on one of our worst shooting nights in years LOL. I think my predicted loss which will now be a win at SIU will make up for my lone error in record prediction in the home loss to MSU. This team is definitely talented and would of been a lot closer game had BU not shot 16% from the 3's and a -10 in fouls. Plus all those missed easy chip shots down low. That won't happen again this season, even on the road. Les will make sure it wont happen. If your going to toss the ball up there like a JV team and miss it that badly, then you mise well go up strong and risk drawing a charge.

Well, since we're not as good as the '06 team, let's just cancel the season now.

sure...take away a couple bad foul calls, especially one that was NOT a charge, and he might well have and a good game last night.

I agree. He looked aggressive and assertive with the basketball until he got into foul trouble. That charge was about as bad as it gets...second only to the phantom charge on Matt Salley earlier in the half.

Where did Lakeview imply that we should cancel the season?

I meant that he implied -- more like flat-out stated -- this team wasn't as good as the '06 team. Whether he meant 05-06 or 06-07, I'm not sure. But if he is referring to the Sweet 16 year, that team wasn't exactly great before its big late-season run.

At this point in his career, I expect more than just "fight" from Salley. A Senior should be skilled or be able to use/show those skills. Say what you will about Zach Andrews and his "skillset" but at least he found a way to put the ball in the basket.

Salley is as weak with the basketball as any post player we've ever had in this regime. I can't recall a player taking the ball up as weak as he does. It's truly maddening.

The sweet 16 team wasnt great to start but that team had 2 possible NBA players on it and one who was 7'0 tall. That team came together in time to make a great run and in reality under achieved before making the tournament. This team doesnt have that type of talent, I dont think that is going out on a limb. However, I personally will be very disappointed if this team doenst do better than last years team. My goals remain the same, finish 1 or 2 in the Valley and have a chance to win on Sunday in St. Louis.
