OJ Mayo Gets Restraining Order to Override His Suspension

OJ is presently on a 2 game suspension because of a brawl that we discussed a couple days ago.

Mayo got 2 technical fouls which according to state regulations requires disqualification from that game PLUS a 2 game suspension, but........

OJ has got a lawyer, goes to the judge and gets a RESTRAINING ORDER!!
He then played last night and scored 19 as he helped his team beat a nationally rated opponent at Cameron Arena (Duke's home floor!)

He even bumped the ref, which if cited would have led to a season long disqualification...so he's lucky he didn't get the boot for the rest of his senior year.

BUT NOW-- if he plays under the restraining order, and if the decision is reversed, the entire team may suffer, as any wins during that interval could be forfeited!

This guy is already setting the standard for pampered superstar that could break all of OJ Simpson and Kobe Bryant's records!

I liked this line from his lawyer from the last link--
"We feel O.J. certainly didn't do anything intentional," his attorney, Mike Woelfel, who also is an assistant coach at Huntington, told The Herald-Dispatch on Monday. "If there was contact, it was inadvertent or may have been accidentally initiated by the referee himself."

Yeah, this has been a big problem, overaggressive refs going after these coddled superstars. That ref should be banned!

Here was a similar story- Eli Holman is a 6'10' senior from a Northern California high school who signed with Indiana for next year. He was involved in a physical altercation with an official last season, and the Califonia rules require a 18 month suspension from play. He has spent months with legal appeals, and they have all been denied, so far. But recently while awaiting a final appeal, he was shot. There is no word on whether his might have his legal team sue the gansters who shot him.

OK this is probably a stretch but can you say OJ Simpson. Can you say any of the other countless superstar athletes that feel they are above the law because they are simply a good athlete.

People should be outraged. Mike Wilbon certainly was on PTI...good for him. Its a joke. They should come down hard on the kid and show him he isn't "special".
