(Old thread) Recruiting - Who's Left 2008 & 2009

T how would you rate our chances of recruiting these guys from 1-5 with 1 being they said we are their top choice to 5 AZ and UCLA are also recruiting the guy and he's from So. Cal? Just curious what anyone else thinks.

From everything I have heard, BU is not ruled out with Witherspoon, but a lot of big schools are after him, so I haven't got his name written in next year's scorebooks yet.
I am close to 100% certain BU will get at least one more 2008 recruit, and it may be from this list or may be some HS kid or juco kid who blows up between now and then.
As to who it is going to be....here are a couple thoughts...
I know JL would love to have another Jeremy Crouch/Matt Roth type shooting guard.
For 2009 we will need to restock on bigs, as Collins, Austin, Wilson, and likley Singh will be gone

I have a little update on LA Pomlee and also on Tyler Storm....
Iowa HS basketball starts later than Illinois and Pomlee's team has not yet played their first game.

But...Tyler Storm, a previous BU recruit who ended up signing with NIU, has his Geneseo team off to a great start and they are already 5-0 with big wins over some good teams. Storm is scoring in the 20-point range, and if you want some of the links to the coverage of Geneseo's games, let me know.
They play host to Matt Roth and Washington this weekend, then their schedule even gets tougher.

On December 15, there is an event the State Farm Iowa-Illinois Shootout Invitational somewhat like the Tournament of Champions we just had locally, but it pits some of the BEST high school teams from Illinois against some of the best from Iowa.

This year, Geneseo is slated to play against LA Pomlee and the Davenport (IA) Central Blue Devils on 12/15.

This may be more relevant in another thread, but any recent update on Chris Roberts?

He is only averaging around 10 points per game for Navarro College. He might still be recovering from a hip injury that caused him to miss a couple games. He did score about twice that in his first couple games before the injury.

I say we take a contingent of about 25-50 people up to Davenport for the game, all wearing BU shirts, and start up the chant of "LA Pomlee, Come to Bradley" What do you say?

What happens if Roth should de-committ to Indiana? Is there still interest from Bradley? What would be the situation?

He has now signed and submitted a binding Letter of Intent. He would have to ask for, and be granted a release by Indiana. Only then could Bradley contact him, or vice versa. But I am not sure Bradley would be interested.
