OPEN Practice

Hey, I am just one voice - but i think the team needs to have an open practice or scrimmage game at least once before they head off to Europe..
they need to play in front of fans and I am sure the fans would appreciate it...
It would give fans the chance to see all the new players and I am sure it would spur season ticket sales!!

They held an open practice before the games started last fall- http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?p=825132494&highlight=open+practice#post825132494

and two summers ago they held a practice that was open to the media - http://bradleyfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=26438&highlight=open+practice

OPEN PRACTICE

OPEN PRACTICE

I agree 100% with t regarding open practices. This would be a help to the kids to play in front of fans prior to the European trip and it would help season ticket sales.
The open practice should be built around a scrimmage and should not consist of just drills.

Note to Chris R. and Brian W.....Guys, this open practice thing could really help us if the two of you would relent and allow this to happen. It would help our program so why not do it?

The Always a Brave team is supposed to meet in Peoria in July to practice for The Basketball Tournament, and of course, the Bradley team is allowed 10 practices prior to their trip in late July. So likely these 2 teams will have overlapping practice dates, and maybe some kind of practice/event can be scheduled for fans like it was a couple summers ago. Would anyone be interesting in such an event?

I have had season tickets for more than 50 years and I am certain that many of the other "old timers" would jump at a chance to see the team before they leave for Europe. I like the idea of some type of combined workout where the Aways a Brave team and the BU squad are both on display. I agree that this even could be a boost to ticket sales, maybe even offering a discount to anyone who ordered season tickets at the event.
I hope that Chris and Brian are both reading this post.

I would be interesting is seeing a practice between Always A Brave and The Braves.

The NCAA would not allow a practice like that, but I think they could scrimmage without the coaches present and the would not be considered a practice.

Thank you for the clarification, Da Coach. There is always a risk of injury. Hate to see that happen to either bunch!

I don't know that an open practice would lead to any more season ticket sales. I doubt anyone would go who wasn't already a season ticket holder....
I read today where Wardle got HOI league to relocate to Bradley University....70 teams and well over 500 kids....think about it....parents, grandparents attend....and probably MOST don't have season tickets at this point. They get to see the players interact with their kids because they ref the games...??¦??¦

So while an open practice might jazz us season ticket holders up.....what Wardle is doing here is more likely to help season ticket sales and build excitement for BU basketball IMO

you got any of your family members playing in the league, lefty?

here's a story about just what lefty's talking about

My grandkids aren't that old...but I think this a great idea by Wardle
