OT: crime on the Bradley campus

According to the PJ Star, it was 2 men who held a gun to the victim's head and robbed him of a gold watch, his car key and his shoes. The other victim was also robbed of his shoes.

As some here know, the primary victim, who had the gun pointed at his face and threatened with being shot to death was a former Bradley basketball star who had returned home to visit friends and donate his time working basketball camps. He'll soon return to his pro team overseas.

This ongoing crime bs in Peoria will be the reason Cat bails out of PIA and IL.

Peoria and Central IL have descended into a welfare/single mom/minority/white trash/drug/gangster cesspool.

Why would wealthy, intelligent, hard working Cat mgmt, as well as top college graduates, want to hang around in an area that's mostly a mix of Detroit and rural Appalachia?

Nah??¦ Very few of those people live in the city of Peoria. Dunlap, Metamora, Germantown Hills, Washington, and Morton are where they live. Heck, the CFO lives in Tremont.

well, isn't that interesting....the PJS just ran a front page column that ought to send chills down the spine of every parent with a college age daughter..

It was a story about how as few as 1 in every 1000 college campus rapes ever gets pursued by legal authorities or ever gets prosecuted...they all get brushed off and ignored for various reasons...

There's responsibility on all sides, here - people need to be more careful - the college alcohol/drug environment leads to lots of campus assaults,
but the colleges have to take this as a serious issue and prosecute the offenders vigorously.

this is in regard to the shooting & murders that happened a couple months ago off campus but involved Bradley students...

sad to hear that - and we discussed elsewhere the crime that caused the loss of two Bradley professors - altho that did NOT take place anywhere near campus..

similar to Drake - almost all the crime in or around the Bradley campus takes place off the campus on streets nearby in the city, altho the campus police do have jurisdiction to patrol those areas...
