OT: He is coming...

The NBA has turned into one more dreadful "reality show" with its emphasis on individual players, flamboyant owners/head coaches, and creative officiating.

It is inching closer to pro wrestling in integrity and sports relevance.

Don't think I can agree with you there shaun. I think what LBJ did was a complete slap in the face to the fans and City of Cleveland that showed him so much love, adoration, and loyalty for at least the last 8-10 years of his life.

To me it was no different than showing up at the altar with 4-5 girlfriends (one of which you'd been with your whole life who stood by your side unconditionally) for a nationally televised wedding (which YOU called, not ESPN) and then you decided to dump that long time loyal girlfriend for the REALLY hot girl you just met within the last month.

How do you think that long time girlfriend (Cleveland) and her family (the fans) are going to feel about YOU? I guarantee they feel a WHOLE lot worse after being embarrassed and humiliated in front of the entire nation. JMO

The only way this is at all comparable is if it was an arranged marriage situation (i.e. the draft) and he now gets to pick the girl he actually loves (i.e. free agency). LeBron gave Cleveland their first legitimate shot at a title in years. He didn't b*tch, he didn't moan, he made them the winningest team in the NBA the last two years. They couldn't get talent to go around him, so he left for greener pastures.

Your analogy of girlfriends is no where near what actually happened. The man was a free agent. He picked a team. It happens. It happens all the time.

Your precious Carlos Boozer is the shady one. He was in Cleveland and had a club option for another year. The Cavs offered to not pick up the club option and give him more money. He said ok, then the second they released him he bolted to the Jazz. So Bulls fans, lets take a look in the backyard before criticizing LBJ for doing everything by the book.

If this happens the Bulls fans on here will have every reason to call me a hypocrite because if that happens Pujols clearly hates the US of A and is a terrorist ;)

... I'm only half joking here. I will cry.

i will refuse to watch baseball

then have to get my birds on the bat tattoo lasered off.

I think people are missing the point here. LeBron went to Miami because he said that it was a situation where he didn't feel like he had to score 30 points every night or shoot a high percentage from the floor. Does anyone think that Michael, or Kobe, or Magic, or Bird, or any of the greats would have felt or said something like that??? Those guys don't/didn't just want to win. They wanted to be the reason that their team's won.

He has all the natural ability in the world. He may be the most amazing athlete the league has ever seen, but we won't get an answer at to whether or not he is the G.O.A.T. because he didn't choose to be in the conversation.

People loved the NBA when Jordan was playing because they got to see a star player who wanted to dominate. Now we have a star player who wants to get out of the way for everyone else. We're all missing out on watching the next great player because he doesn't want to be the next great player. It's a sad day for the NBA.

The Yanks aren't going to spend $25 million/year on a DH. Cards fans need to worry about the Red Sox.

they are both synonymous with money to me haha.

yeah with texas locked up for awhile....who knows the yankees could do stupid things with their money if albert goes nuts for the next 1.5 seasons.

Pujols is a free agent after this year, isn't he?

I think you can relax. The Yanks are getting Lee and Crawford this offseason.

Hes a free agent after this year only if the Cards want him to be....as Im pretty sure they hold a club option on him for the 2011 season.....which Im sure they will exercise if they havn't already signed him to an extension.

MJ had Scottie (a top 50 all time NBA player) and the greatest coach the NBA has ever seen. Kobe had Shaq (top 20 all time) and Pau (top 10 in the NBA today). Bird had McHale (top 50 all time). Magic had Kareem (top 10 all time) and James Worthy (Hall of Famer). Dr. J only won when he joined Moses Malone and Maurice Cheeks. Bill Russell had Bob Cousy, Havlecheck, Wilt (top 10) had Jerry West (top 20). Tim Duncan (top 20) had David Robinson (top 50).

Lebron had.............
Most of the time you NEED more then one great player to win, you need two or three! Only the championship Piston teams, the Rockets through 94-95, Sonics of 79, Bullets of 78 and TrailBlazers of 77 won with only 1 or no all time great players.

Lebron knows that, so he went to play with another soon to be all-time great another great player. So what's wrong with that?

True, just about every team that wins the title has at least two very good players, but what sets this situation apart is that LeBron, at 25 years of age, castrated himself to go over to another top player's team to give himself a chance to win.

The greatest competitors in the NBA have never given up like that and conceded that they couldn't do it without another great player. Do you think Jordan ever said, "Thank god I have Scottie Pippin. He makes me feel so much more comfortable because I don't feel like I have to score 30 points each game"? Not a chance. He wanted to drop 50 and embarrass his defender on national television. That's the kind of competitor that creates a legacy. As of right now, LeBron's legacy will be that he's soft and a quitter...if there's a legacy at all.

There is only one Michael Jordan. No one will have a legacy like MJ. And MJ did have that killer instinct, but he never would have won ANY championships if the Bulls never got Scottie and his legacy would be a lot closer to Jerry West's legacy then the MJ we know if he never got Scottie.

The Cavs were in no way able to get Lebron a great player, so he left.

Kobe pouted and wined like a BABY when he had no great players around him. He demanded a trade so many times. He conceded he couldn't win without another great player. So they got Gasol, who is definitely a top 10 current NBA player.

Lebron's 1 hour special was a stupid mistake, but a stupid mistake most 25 year olds would make if given the chance.

"When we went into battle, I knew I had someone to watch my back," Michael Jordan said. "Scottie Pippen, he's my guy. I love him like a brother. He pushed me to be the best basketball player every day in practice. And I pushed him to be the best Scottie Pippen he could be."

Gee, i think Michael Jordan sounded pretty happy about having Scottie with him.

Pau Gasol isn't a top 10 player in the NBA.

Without a doubt. Gasol is solid but I'd take... Kobe, Lebron, DWade, Bosh, Amare, Dwight Howard, Joe Johnson, Deron Williams, Carmelo, Paul Pierce, Chris Paul, Brandon Roy, maybe even Garnett and Duncan plus Durant. And that was off the top of my head...

Say Kobe's a whiner(he was surrounded by no talent for years... I'd do the same), but the guy can ball.

Joe Johnson makes me lolz
17ppg, 5.1 rebounds average for 2010 when he's considered the best player on his team.
While Pau, clearly second best on his team, 19ppg, 11.1 rebounds per game

He's easily the most offensively talented big man in the game, except Yao when he's healthy.

Gasol doesn't quite crack the top 10 in my book....like he said.....Wade, Bosh, Lebron, Pierce, D Williams, C Paul, Durant, Kobe, Carmelo Anthony, Roy....Id definitely would take any of those before Gasol.

However....after Kobe on the Lakers you have Gasol, Artest, Odom....all 3 of those are better than the 2nd best player on the Cavs last year...regardeless of who you pick as the 2nd best...and thats not even counting Mr Clutch...Derek Fisher.....

Sometimes I think Lebron is being Underestimated if that's possible here...what he did with that supporting caet is remarkable. Guaranteed you could put Lebron in Kobe's spot on the Lakers and he also would have won a title. Kobe on the Cavs though...Im not sure they get as many wins as they did with Lebron.

I agree that LBJ does get underestimated considering what he did with some weak rosters in Cleveland. Unfortunately, I think LBJ's abilities could go underutilized since he'll have to share the ball in Miami. Until I heard David Stern say otherwise, there is still only one ball.
