UIC is blistering ISU in the 2nd half 48-21...
UIC now leads 81-47 with a 42-21 rebounding advantage (Chase Walker out)

UNI up 20 over Drake, 65-45

One other final - Valpo edges Indiana State 76-65

If Belmont knocks off Murray State later today, Bradley will own sole possession of 2nd place 2 games back of Belmont.

UIC threw a kid in the game who had averaged just 7 min per game- mostly garbage time this season..
Ante Beljan, a below-the-rim 6-10 kid but he's scorched the Redbirds with Walker out of there and nobody else to play defense down low.
He's 8-11 in just 14 minutes, 16 pts, 4 reb

I only watched a few mintes late in the 2nd half but ISU looked horrible. Lot of turnovers and poor shots.

UIC & Valpo both have legit chances to avoid Thursday in St Louis

Final- UIC 83 Illinois State 56
Final- UNI 82 Drake 54

Updated MVC Standings (does not include today's Murray State-Belmont game)-

Bradley is now tied for 2nd with Murray State at 11-5, with Murray State due to host Belmont at 5 pm.
UIC is now 10-6, one game behind Bradley and alone in 4th place in the MVC.
Illinois State will drop to 9-7 and into a 5th place tie with UNI.

UIC has the easiest schedule over the final 4 games. They have road games at Evansville and Indiana State, and home games with Bradley and Valparaiso.
Bradley has road games at Valparaiso and UIC and home games against Illinois State and Murray State.
Illinois State's schedule might be the toughest- road games at UNI and Bradley, and home vs. Murray State and Belmont.
Murray State's has road games at Illinois State and Bradley, and home against Belmont and Evansville.
And Belmont has road games at Murray State and Illinois State, and home games against Indiana State and Evansville.

One other thought- in case of ties at the end of the regular season schedule, the MVC tiebreaker is here-
https://mvc-sports.com/documents/2025/11/11/Arch_Madness_Tournament_Tiebreaker.pdf

The NET rank of each team and their record prior to today's games (2/15/26)
61- Belmont 22-4
83- Illinois State 16-9
89- UNI 15-10
94- Murray State 19-8
117- Southern Illinois 11-14
118- Bradley 16-9
133- UIC 12-12
162- Valparaiso 12-13
192- Drake 10-15
217- Indiana State 8-16
292- Evansville 4-20

Bradley's NET will rise slightly after today's win, but the later we get in the season, the shifts after wins and losses diminish.
Bradley should finally rise above SIU in NET. Can anyone explain how SIU's NET has stayed better than Bradley's nearly all season with a losing record?
Bradley will have the NET tiebreaker with UIC only if they can win at UIC on Feb. 24. Bradley needs to beat Belmont or Murray State and hope the NET will shift enough to rise above them. That seems unlikely with Belmont, but may be possible with Murray State.
Of course it all depends on Bradley continuing to win and not have an unfortunate losing streak.

Drake got clobbered by Northern Iowa 86-62-

But what is interesting is that the MVC leading scorer, Drake's Jalen Quinn, did not start the game. He ended up playing 30 minutes, and was Drake's leading scorer with 20 points. Drake has lost 6 games in a row. The streak started with Bradley's 87-73 win in Des Moines (the Alex Huibregtse 29 point game), and in every one of those games they have gotten off to a terrible start.

Here is Drake Head Coach Eric Henderson's answer to why he didn't start Quinn. Drake has been outscored by 39 points combined in the first 4 minutes of their last 6 games (all losses).

in other words...
"scoring at will against us early in every game while Jalen is looking only to pad his offensive stats"

An absolute tale of 2 halves as Belmont, who was down 19 with 18:00 to go in the game, outscored Murray State by an incredible 36 points beating the Racers 87-70. BU is now solo 2nd in the Valley.

Actually a very careful and well thought out answer by Coach Henderson. Good for the fans to hear and good for the locker room to hear and grow from.
Respect

I watched this game. Murray State folded. Bradley was mentioned several times during the broadcast. Nice to get some good publicity on national TV

ISU fans are fed up with mediocre play and losing. They were picked to win the MVC and are now 9-7, tied for 5th place, but just 5-7 in their last 12 games, and struggling to avoid the Thursday games. They have losses to arguably the worst teams in the league, Valparaiso, SIU, Indiana State, and Evansville. Their "Fire Pedon" thread on their fan board is over 470 posts long and has over 35,000 views.
So here is what an ISU fan and blogger suggests they do-
