Pantagraph on ISU: "Someone is leaving"

Jim Benson, the Pantagraph's guy who covers ISU has an article speculating about who on the present roster might be leaving.
Coach Jank not talking...

"It seems Illinois State??™s recruiting for the 2008-09 basketball season wasn??™t finished, after all.

Lloyd Phillips, a 5-foot-10 point guard from Iowa Western Community College, has announced he will sign a national letter of intent with the Redbirds.
ISU is currently at the NCAA limit of 13 scholarships for next season. If Phillips is coming, that means someone on the team is leaving."

"I am not in position to comment on our roster at this time,??? said Redbird coach Tim Jankovich on Tuesday."

OK...if you want the speculation, then....
---either one of the present players is leaving or not going to play....and the spotlight would fall on the ones getting little playing time like Brandon Holtz (although if he were going to leave I suspect it would have already happened), Mike Vandello, or Alex Rubin who was recruited by Moser but who played little under Jank.
---OR...........one of the incoming new guys is NOT going to qualify......maybe it's Kenyon Smith from Simeon.

In other MVC news...a St. Louis radio station says that Ben Hansbrough, who just left Mississippi State is down to choosing between SIU and Missouri State.
And Missouri State has gotten a verbal from Cardell McFarland, a prep school kid from Brighton Academy who is originally from Evansville.
Rivals is saying McFarland is getting late interest from Purdue, but he is likely to follow the guy recruiting him (ex-Purdue asst. Cuonzo Martin)
and sign at Missouri State.

I would love to see this kid in the MVC.......... I predict he'll become a star by the time he's done. Watching him play against us in the NIT convinced me that he would become a very good player for MSU..........I think he'll be even better in the MVC.

Let's see, so that allows them to keep Vandello on athletic scholarship next season PLUS give out yet another scholarship to a 14th scholarship player...........right?
I hope he's OK and does well in his college and future career.......

That's how I understood it T. I wish Vandello the best.
