I have a polite suggestion...
we won the game, let's please not get into bashing the players
I vote McCain!
Seriously though - Sam is better as a scorer, and I am all for not overloading DSE's plate right now. Let DSE continue to thrive as the 6th man.
SM should start and Simms-Edwards should be first off the bench.
SM should start and Simms-Edwards should be first off the bench.
SM should start and Simms-Edwards should be first off the bench.
At this point I'd love to see AW play most of his minutes at the 2 and CR at the 3. We then can fill in SM and DSE at the 1 and 2 when necessary.
1 - EM 15 mpg, SM 15 mpg, DSE 10 mpg
2 - AW 20 mpg, SM 10 mpg, DSE 10 mpg
3 - CR 25 mpg, AW 10 mpg, TB 5 mpg
4 - TB 25 mpg, WE 10 mpg, MK 5 mpg
5 - WE 20 mpg, SS 10 mpg, AT 10 mpg
Ideally just once I'd love to see this lineup: DSE, AW, TB, WE, AT
I voted for Sam (based on his play versus EM so far), but I think a confident, controlled McCain as a starter gives us a better chance to win. I'd love to see SM as the 6th man spark off the bench but EM hasn't shown enough improvement to snatch the starting PG mantle.
As for Simms-Edwards......PLEASE! It's just TOO soon to even think about him as a starter. Let's see him show this same level of play consistently for a few games and, if he does, we can talk "starter" come MVC time.
Playing devils advocate here, the same could be said about Eddren....ya know...having any consistency whatsoever...
That line-up is toooooo tall for Coach Les. Dream all you want, but we have a coach that loves guard play. He'll recruit some bigs, but they seem to have to split time at the same position (5) even though some of them could play the 4 spot. He's slowly diggin his own grave with that thought process as it has done nothing but give him 4th place or below in the MVC for 7 years and counting. The results speak for themselves. I saw nothing last night that would lead me to believe that anything but 4th place is the highest BU will end up. If we don't land Wilkins next year 4th place or below will be perpetual (it already is). I said it a few years ago and I have not been proven wrong yet.
One question off the topic... Why does it seem like every point guard that plays Bradley is an All-American? Even the guy from Lewis looked good.
