Pictures of the New Carver Arena scoreboard...

One thing that I would like to see with the new scoreboards is the posting of other scores from the MVC, Big 10, or top 25. Not sure if the new scoreboard will have this capability or not....also, I heard one time that JL doesn't like having the Valley scores announced during the game. (Half-time is ok but not while the team is on the floor) Does anyone know if this is true or not?

I understand why Les does not like scores being announced during the game as you want your players focused on your game only, you can check other games after you take care of your own business.

Here is a pic from the Rivermen FB page showing the new scoreboard in place!

I walked in their today to see it raised, it looks too low for me. From what I can tell it is only about 25-30 ft above ground level. I would have to imagine it will be raised more. From Mezzanine level the bottom of the scoreboard is below the Mezz level, and just by judging by the scoreboards height from the pic at the top right of this page, and other shots, the scoreboard is usually about the level of the first row of the upper bowl. So I would assume it will be raised another 10-15 feet, but I could be wrong.

Maybe they'd raise and lower it according to the event?

It could be like Cowboys Stadium when the ball hit the bottom of the screen in the preseason game against the Titans last year. Imagine a puck or basketball deflecting off the bottom of the scoreboard. :o

Didn't see this posted anywhere else. Received a PCC VIP email today with the following:
Public Invited to Attend
Peoria Civic Center New Arena Scoreboard
Open House and Open Skate
Wednesday, September 29

The Peoria Civic Center will host an open house to showcase the new Arena scoreboard and open skate tomorrow, Wednesday, September 29, 2010, from 5 – 6:30 p.m.
Attendees will get the first view of the new Arena scoreboard and its larger and clearer video screen and hear from representatives from the Peoria Civic Center and the Arena tenants on what benefits the new scoreboard will bring. After the board is turned on, those in attendance will be invited to participate in an open skate on the Carver Arena ice; enjoy free popcorn, soda and Art's Tamales from Centerplate, the Peoria Civic Center’s exclusive in-house caterer; and have their picture taken on the new video board.

Short notice but I'll still try to go.

Now that the scoreboard is ready to roll, I would like for them to replace the sound system. I can't understand half of the things said and I have normal hearing LOL. I sit at my seat and when they announce something, I look around and everyone else says "I don't have a clue?" LOL

I hope we have a money back guarantee on the quality of the stream this year! Hopefully they will stream one of the pre-season games for free so we can see the product before we smack down the plastic.
