Player Outlook: Jordan Prosser

I agree with all you had to say except the averages. If he plays 16 mpg I'd hope he averaged more then 3.6 rebounds. Once WE comes back I believe JP's number will have to be made up at the 4. WE should be able to play 20 mpg by conference play and Sam 10 which leaves 10 more.

16 mpg and 3.6 rpg works out to an average of 9.0 per 40 minutes. I don't think that's bad for a freshman. If he was rebounding more efficiently than that, he'd probably be a starter right off the bat.

I agree that JL likes to see a rookie off the bench first - a la EM last year - but JP will earn his minutes early into the season and could be starting by January. Just my opinion...

I hope im wrong, but I dont think hes going to get that many minutes this year. I would say 7-8 minutes, I think hes going to be behind Tb, WE, both for minutes, not sure about ss, sams good when you need some meat in the lane and I hope Jp can do the same with more mobility.

JP has the chance to play the 4 also, where there could be some open minutes if we decide to go a bit bigger. Besides SS and WE being healthy there are other options to get him on the floor.

Prosser is the most talented post player we have, and the most polished. He will play quite a bit.

I'm not doubting you but does he have the strength to contribute effectively for long stretches of time? Also do you see him playing predominantly the 4 or 5 for this team?

He will probably be strong enough by the time the season starts, and I see him playing the 5. I just think he is way more comfortable with his back to the basket than facing it. Just my opinion.

He is physically stronger than any freshman post player we've had here since JL came on board. Physical strength won't be an issue.

Physical strength may be ok but physical endurance might be another issue.

I think JP will be a good player for BU and will contribute this year but he will be going up against older and mature players and will have his hands full much of the time.

Maybe he'll be like Wake Forest's James Johnson was his freshman year. I know he may not be quite the talent Johnson was..... but he also won't be playing the same level of competition. Just a thought.....

I look for J.Prosser to play 8 to 10 minutes the 1st half of the season and about 16 minutes once the Valley season begins.

I agree, but it isn't going to be an AT or WE freshman year situation. JP is the most game-ready freshman post player we've had since Patrick O'Bryant, and is more fundamentally sound with his back to the basket than POB. He will be a significant player in our post rotation this year.

This is one time where I hope to look back and say: "D@mn, that BradleyBrave WAS right!" :) :)

Not to be a debbie downer but the only problem I see is the kid is used to player guys 2-3-4 inches shorter then him. Now he will go against guys his height AND bigger.

I'm not doubting his skill set or the fact he will develop into a very good player for BU but there will be a rude awakening and a learning curve IMO. Lets just hope its a short one....

but if he was shorter and always used to play against kids 2, 3, and 4 inches taller...then you'd say he isn't tall enough!

huh...not sure what you mean.

JP, like MANY "bigger" HS kids (6'7 and above) are more often then not matched up against other teams centers that are often 6'5" and shorter.

Alls I am saying is those days are over. EVERY nite JP will match up against guys his height and taller and as strong and stronger.

He'll be fine but there will be a definite learning curve IMO.......thats all.

I agree with you dog these won't be unsized and unpolished farm boys he will be up against:!: He will be fine but there will be a definite learning curve:!: So I still think he will do much better this year at the 4:!:
