Breaking news that super frosh and previous 4-Star PG Juwan Staten (A-10 assist leader) is leaving Dayton..as is Chicago star & Dayton freshman Brandon Spearman

Staten in particular is going public with gripes about the program and coach...
"When coach Gregory recruited me, as heavily as he recruited me — it
started when I was a freshman in high school till I stepped on campus — I
felt there were certain things that defined me as a player, and I don’t feel
like he let me do those things. I don’t feel my talent was used as good as it
could have been..."

South Carolina sophomore guards Ramon Galloway (part time starter - 11 ppg) and Stephen Spinella (reserve) are transferring

LaSalle Center, previous 5-Star Aaric Murray (15pt/8reb) is transferring...wonder who he got a call from??

also if everyone who is on the Indiana Hoosier roster is staying and finishing their eligibility there, then they are oversigned by TWO
for 2012.....so it is obvious that at least two current guys will be gone...
the IU people are already assuming one will be Matt Roth...and the other will have to be one of those who return in 2012, Watford, Creek, Elston, Capo, Hulls, Oladipo, Sheehey.
I am sure it wouldn't be Oladipo or Sheehey as they are just currently freshmen and have worked themnselves into starters, and Hulls, Watford, & Creek are among their current
most valuable players......

HOWEVER...Watford -- one of the best players in all of the Big Ten may be getting fed up with being a tremendous player on a bottom dwelling team...
This comment came up in a premium blog.........
"The IU transfer rumors heated up this week probably in part due to the individual team meetings player had with Coach Tom Crean.
...there are rumors with Christian Watford ..that came about because CWat switched his Twitter/Facebook hometown from Bloomington
to Birmingham but he was back home over spring break. Who knows but it may just be normal early attrition levels this spring for the Hoosiers."

There are some at IU expressing worry he may jump to a team with a chance to play in the NCAA as Seth Curry did to Duke...

A couple more guys reported to be leaving...
Texas super freshman has already signed with an agent and will go in the NBA Draft..
Tristan Thompson -- btw he played here in Nov. 2009 when Findlay was playing at the Washington HS Tournament of Champions..he was good but raw -- hadn't played much competition where he came from in Canada... he really blossomed in college ---
...but -- just this morning a report out of Dallas quotes Thompson's mom as saying she hasn't signed yet and he could return to Texas

one other guy putting his name in Thomas Robinson, Kansas soph

Rick Majerus is up to his old routine -- Creaning his roster...Christian Salecich is gone and will transfer........
he's a kid Majerus went hard after and thought was going to be a star -- Salecich -- started almost every gamne as a freshman...then his playing time tailed off as
his production tanked..........then this year he quickly lost his starting spot, then lost more & more playing, and finally was a deep sub....and averaged just 2 ppg - down from 6 ppg last year -
and was scoreless in a number of games down the stretch....

USC's Nikola Vucevic is also signing with an agent for the draft, and USC is going after Wake Forest's Ari Stewart who is also transferring

Sophomore Evan Gordon, little brother of Eric Gordon, is transferring from Liberty after an All Conf year..14.4 ppg, 2.9 reb, 2.4 asst..
this is exactly the same path Seth Curry just took - only one year at Liberty then he landed at Duke...

At Georgia Tech -- as most have heard -- ex-BU Recruit Iman Shumpert was very distraught with the firing of his coach and hiring of the new guy -- he is likely to leave...
Shumpert actually did it in a fashion that has a lot of people upset and saying he was rude and arrogant..
in the middle of the press conference to introduce new head coach Brian Gregory.. Shumpert tweeted he was outta there...

Maryland's best player and one of the best players in the ACC Jordan Williams is going in the draft

I was hoping he stayed but new he would not. He already has an NBA body and has nothing to prove. He's a first round, probably lottery pick. There will be a few other leaving early. I bet Sullinger will also go even though he said he will stay. He may be the number one pick in the draft.

promising Utah freshman JJ O'Brien (6.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg) is transferring

likewise 6'8" freshman forward, Anali Okoloji from Seton Hall transferring,
also TWO Xavier freshmen Jordan Latham & Jay Canty

Coach Geno Ford would know these kids quite well........

Toledo's best player Malcolm Griffin -- sophomore out of Chicago averaging 12 ppg, 4 apg is transferring...
and freshman JT Thomas...is leaving...
there are also two other freshmen leaving -- and just before the 2010-2011 season started SEVEN players left or were booted, including one Bradley was in the market for... - LINK
...that makes thirteen players (counting the loss of two seniors) leaving in the last 11 months!!! What the hey!!!

Colton Iverson considered Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska, and Creighton before committing to Minnesota. Even though the coach at Iowa State at that time was Greg McDermott, I could see Fred Hoiberg being interested in him. Iowa State has taken over the title of Transfer U since Hoiberg took over, and Hoiberg needs guys with size.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/recruiting/player-Colton-Iverson-68223

ISU has no interest in Iverson, but they did take Utah transfer Will Clyburn today. Clyburn is a 6'7" guard that scored 17 points and grabbed 8 boards per game for Utah this year. He will sit out next year and have on year to play. ISU has 6'11" freshman Jordan Railey, 6'9" freshman Calvin Godfrey, 6'8" redshirt freshman Royce White, 6'8" soph Anthony Booker, 6'7" junior Clyburn and 6'6" freshman Melvin Ejim so size is not a huge issue for ISU right now.

Iowa State is definitely getting some good players in transfer but is it good and will it help in the long term to take so many transfers...
Clyburn -- like Chris Allen and Jake Anderson will end up giving the Cyclones only one single season of eligibility.
It is very difficult for various reasons to build consistency with so many transfers...who by nature are maybe a bit more likely to not be so coachable -- as many come in disgruntled (eg - Booker) - and some, like Jake, are very well traveled - having been at many schools...
Clyburn makes eight D-I transfers they have but it'll be only seven next year when Jake is gone.

BTW -- here's some more news -- on the eve of the signing period -- Dayton's TOP two recruits back out of their committments and ask out of their letters of intent
http://www.newstalkradiowhio.com/ne...Zj/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Dayton's Brian Gregory is now at Georgia Tech and is defintiely trying to get both of them to follow him there...
