It's only talk, but the radio show down here was speculating whether the Miami Heat would trade Beasley (plus maybe a draft pick) for Bosh.

I read that Rubio declared, so either of the top two picks are pretty good.
The Bulls have a couple 1st rounders...maybe those and Tyrus Thomas would do it??
You'd move Thomas and two firsts for Rubio? Yuck...
I was just looking into it and as I understand NBA cap rules the Bulls and Raptors would have to match salary to pull off a deal on Bosh (as both teams are above the cap). As it happens the salaries of Deng and Thomas happen to just about equal the salary of Chris Bosh. I'd do that in a heartbeat, and throw in a first rounder to boot. Almost feels like a decent trade for both teams in terms of the pieces that change hands, at least when taking into consideration a situation where Toronto has learned that they just can't keep Bosh.
I think Deng has negative value after his poor year and his sizable contract. If I were Toronto, I would just let Bosh walk rather than take on Deng's contract.
I dont think you let value just walk. Either Toronto goes and gets young athletic players, and/or draft picks as compensation for Bosh or they go and get expiring contracts. But they can not just let him walk without getting any type of compensation.
Look for Houston to move McGrady sometime next season... infact I would not be surprised at all to see McGrady and his expiring 20+ million dollar contract moved to Toronto for Bosh and some Toronto expiring contracts.
The Bulls need interior scoring bigtime but I am not sure they are willing to move Thomas. I think him, Rose and Salmons are probably not likely to move but everyone else should be considered as a moveable piece.
Hehe, I hear you on Deng being untradeable, and I agree. I also thought there was no chance in h*ll that Jay Cutler would be a Bear... I feel like I wouldn't take on Deng and his contract, but I'm praying someone thinks he's worth something and praying that he's the best that Toronto can do when it comes to trading Bosh.
Regarding comments on Thomas, I think he's someone you want to trade now. I think he has value and potential, but I personally don't think he'll ever be very good. It's the kind of guy you dump when you get the chance for some value in return (or the kind of guy I'd dump anyway).
I agree completely. Hopefully the Bulls will be able to do something this summer after teams have seen their bottom lines in this economy.
It's not what I don't like about Deng the player... It's what I don't like about Deng + Deng's contract. He's a fine player, he's just not an elite player and so a team that pays him like one is doing itself no favors.
How old is Deng? He's very young still and has a tremendous upside. The question is not if the Bulls can get him what other options do the Raptors have? If they lose Bosh for zero then they have failed even more so then trading him for a Deng like player but then again they could trade him for salary cap and pick up some free agents. It will be interesting off-season to see how teams will jockey their roster for the following year, free agent class. No matter what LJ will make a ton and Detroit will be bad next year. Also I wonder how much the down economy will effect the market?
