POB sign with Agent.

Looks like JL did give PO'Bs ride away...to Jeremy Fears? :-o He will have to sit out next season but sounds like a very good player! 8)

PS............THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES PO'B & GOOD LUCK!

Of course hiring an agent means that the "agent" can actually give the "client" an "advance" of what Patrick might earn in the NBA in exchange for the exclusive rights to represent Patrick when contract negotiations begin, and of course the agent can receive the usual "commission".

So, I suspect we can also congratulate Patrick on successfully accomplishing this.

POB thanks for the 2 great years it was fun watching you grow on and off the court thanks for the memories. Please don't forget us back at BU.

I think it happens in any profession. When someone becomes successful and rich, they sometimes can forget about the common people who helped them get where they are.

I guess we will have to see what master mind Coach Les does with that one open scholarship. I hope he can lure a big man into coming to BU :)

"mastermind" as you sarcastically call him did pretty well with this scholarship. Fears is an absolute steal for BU, and a player who was being pursued by BCS-type schools, and as highly rated as any other MVC recruit.

If Les can get a good big man this late than I say go for it. If not then he should save the scholarship.
Do you still think he should have "saved" the scholarship?

Congratulations to POB and best wishes for future success in the NBA. It wonderful to have been able to watch a player develop so rapidly right before our eyes. This last basketball season was a wonderful ride for BU and POB - thank you for the memories.

I can only hope/pray that will not happen to POB. He is a great kid with great family support around him.

Coach Les did well landing Fears.

jenn--you are right.
It was fun. And more than fun, it created memories for the ages!
I had a great time this season going on road trips with my kids, spending the entire weekend in St. Louis watching Bradley make a statement, and then going to the NCAA games.
Just by chance, the tix I scarfed in Michigan for my kids & I were right in the middle of the BU parents and family (makes me think one of the BU players' families unloaded the tix to a scalper and I was fortunate enough to be the next guy along to get them)
It gave us not only an opportunity to have the best seats in the house for some all-time memorable BU games, but also to meet and talk with a number of the players' families, including Patrick's. I will never forget when we were sitting immedately next to Will Franklin's mom and aunt when Will lobbed that 40 footer in at the halftime buzzer. We all celebrated like it was our own family making that play! And it was great to be able to see and chat with the great posters we have (dogs, Mrcoachdude, Grassman, Orange & Black, Mike Radigan, Da Coach, etc.) You are sooooo right that this was a very special year, and we have a lot to be thankful for.

And a huge bunch of thanks go to Patrick for being part of the team that gave us all this.

Did anyone notice that the entire discussion about Patrick O'Bryant signing with an agent which was over on the PJ Star message board just got deleted in its entirety. It was all taken down for some reason..

Does anyone know what that was all about??

Who knows, that board is so overmoderated it's sickening, maybe the ISU dictator that runs that board was jealous of a BU player being a lottery pick. I did notice that all the negative BU threads are still alive and well.......

Oh yea good luck to POB, you're a class act in every way.
