UIUC fans wear Orange because they all come in directly from hunting.

Gonna wear red to the game, and put the white shirt over it, I think. Might bring last year's white-out shirt as a reserve. I'm going to try to heed the coach's orders and stand longer, but I don't want to piss off all the people I have to be around for the rest of the season. ;)

Like bradley09jdubs, I am also in the band. Therefore, I have no choice but to wear the rugby shirts, which are red and white striped (7 stripes (4 red, 3 white) total), not including the collar and the very bottom of the shirt.

I still stand by what I said early about the student section wearing Red since we are named the Red Sea but I'm like the rest of you, I know that when I get to the stadium I will definitely be wearing white. It'll feel strange but if it gives us some kind of advantage then I don't want to be the odd ball out wearing red.

I answered Red just because I hate the idea of a white out for Mich St. since they have white outs at all their home games. I think this is like asking the Illini to have a white out....it would never happen. They wear their orange to every game just like we should wear our red to every game. As the game gets closer I know I will soften and end up wearing white....but I don't have to like it!

Be loud, Be Proud...GO BU!!

Chucky T is just upset becuase he has put away all his whites for the winter....:) Hey I agree...the white out was an oversight by someone but it still should be fun. Besides our colors are RED and White so its not to much of a stretch.

The whiteout is being way over analyzed IMO.

It's an effect, it doesn't matter who does it.

It looks good on tv and it shows unity.

I can't believe people are going to wear another color because they think its a bad idea just because MSU does it.

MSU likely hasn't seen this on the road so it should only enhance our home court advantage.

Hey thats the nature of mesage boards.....we "over analyze" almost EVERYTHING. You are correct though that its all about the unity, we are one, blah, blah, blah. You'll NEVER get 100% but I would guess 95% of 11,400 will go along with the "orders".

Yeah you've got to wear white to this one. It looks bad if a few people won't do it. Coach Les wants it so it's a no-brainer.

I just heard that the assistant AD has told some students the Red Sea will be wearing Red. This is confusing as the left hand doesn't seem to know what the right hand is doing.

Anyone know for sure?

This is confusing now. I figured "White Out" meant "White Out". I would like it if the student section got to wear red but not if the rest of the stadium is wearing white. If they are trying to create a unity among everyone in the stadium then everyone should be wearing white. The players are wearing white, the fans are wearing white, it would be nice if the coaches would wear white, so why not have the student section wear white? This should be a case closed kind of thing with everyone wearing the same color.

During the NIT white out I think they handed t shirts out from a booth...correct. If I recall during the redout vs Depaul weren't the shirts on the seats?

I hope each seat is draped with a white a T....its a great look when you first enter the Arena.

This was posted in another one of the discussion threads towards students:

"HELLO RED PRIDE MEMBERS!

ALTHOUGH TONIGHT IS A WHITE OUT AND YOU WILL HAVE WHITE SHIRTS ON YOUR SEATS, WE ASK THAT ALL OF THE STUDENT SECTION WEAR RED AS WE STILL WANT THE STUDENT SECTION TO REPRESENT THE "RED SEA"

PLEASE PASS ALONG THIS INFORMATION TO YOUR FRIENDS!!!!"

I don"t think it makes sense that the students wear red when we are promoting a white-out as it looks better to see all the fans in the arena wearing the same color; it makes it look like the students and the adults are divided ; this would look better if 100% of us were in white.

I really hope the shirts are a decent size if this is the option.
