Danny Granger stayed long enough to play for Les. Was Suggs a loss? Tucker transferred to UWM to be with a girlfriend. And, no, Molinari was never given any assurance that he would be retained (And I have a pretty good source, too).
He may have thought that the National Anthem was going to be played more than once a night.
but my point was that with Granger, Tucker, Tisby, Gullingham, Gilbert, etc..Bradley was almost certainly poised to have very good years in 2002-03 and 2003-04 - instead we had to go thru a bit of a rebuild, you'd have to admit..Danny Granger stayed long enough to play for Les. ... but Abegg wanted to distance himself from Versace...He was NOT fired as has commonly been stated.
It was no secret at the time that Versace and Abegg never got along. Abegg was looking for any reason to fire Versace (just like Glasser with Les) and Dick served up his reason on a silver platter. University Presidents almost always win out in the end.
The Mo firing also caused a Mo assistant to go to UNM where he (illegally) continued texting Granger and lured him away.
Love Mo to death and would have loved to see what he could have done with all that talent -- future NBA all star, Horizon League POY -- but if he stays we likely don't get Buescher on board and the Sweet 16 with Sommerville, Ruffin, POB.
His detractors always say that, but never give a reason.
