Positive Thinking - Who's going to St. Louis?

Who's going and where are you staying? Unfortunately once again this year there's some sort of convention going on, and space at the team hotel was severely limited. So, I am curious as to who is going and where everyone is staying. The Valley Tournament is one of my favorite, if not my favorite, weekend of the year. I'll most likely be there for the duration of the tournament, win or lose.

My current group of people have been going for the last 7 years. I and my brother have been going since it moved to St. Louis. A great weekend, regardless of how BU is playing. Can't beat seeing that many games for the price!

I believe we had to change hotels because of some convention. I think we are staying at the Hilton @ The Park or something like that! We will be down there the entire weekend win or lose!

I am going, but which day depends on when Bradley plays. I was fortunate to get one room at the Renaissance (team hotel) and several more at the Holiday Inn.

I am planning on being there Thursday through Sunday. I just recently started going to the Thursday play-in games, and I find them quite relaxing and enjoyable. Kind of a nice 'transition' into tourney mode. Now, should BU end up playing in them, well....they'll be anything but relaxing and enjoyable. But for now I enjoy sipping a few cold ones and watching some Valley buckets.

The Hilton at the Ballpark is the same hotel (at Broadway and Market streets) that formerly was the Marriott Pavillion Hotel. That was Bradley's team hotel for many years through the 1990's. It's a good downtown hotel with a lot of nice amenities, and it's less than a mile walk to the Scottrade Center.

My group is going as always! We are staying at the Marriott, Union Station. Able to get a ok rate and others were full because of convention. Nice planning St. Louis! GO BRAVES

I can't go and I'm ticked off about it

I've already missed one game this year for a class and now I'm missing an entire weekend for another. Grrrrrrrrrr

I'll be there, got my All-Session pass already purchased, still debating about a hotel though. A friend of mine always seems to get a great last minute deal so we have been holding off. Not sure how much longer we can hold off though. Where are a majority of the Bradley fans staying at if they aren't staying at the team hotel? Kind of the point of this thread I guess.

I would Priceline or Hotwire a hotel. That's what my group did and we get a great hotel near the arena for about 1/3 of what it would cost booking online through the hotel or over the phone.

Priceline $50 a night at the Marriott Union Station (the old hyatt regency) which is a hop skip and a jump from the Savvis. Go four star and downtown and you may get the same, although I did it about 2 weeks ago.

I usually wait until the week of to get my hotel room, but I heard about the lack of hotel vacancy and booked early. $40/night at the Holiday Inn Select. It's not really where I want to be, but we are rarely in the room anyways.

Our crew is heading down for our 3rd Annual MVC Tourney Destruction Tour. We're coming in Thursday with a new fifth member. Can't wait really. Didn't have trouble getting rooms at the Renaissance and had fun there last year so decided to do it again.

Thanks for the info, Da Coach. that is good news for JD/BigDaddy group. I was worried about how it would be.

I love Arch Madness

I'm staying at the Roberts Mayfair, which is about a block from the Renaissance Grand on St. Charles St. They are currently in the midst of a remodeling project, but it's supposed to be completed by the end of February. It's located about two blocks from the nearest Metro station. I booked the room through the MVC supplemental hotel block at Arch Madness.

A buddy of mine and I will be there from Thursday night on. Looking forward to some competitive hoops and, of course, a visit to the Hill for some great Italian food! :)

We go every year with our all session tickets and watch at least part of every game. It's a great weekend with good friends, good hoops, and good food too. We are staying at the Crown Plaza (next door to the old Adam's Mark...which is now the Hyatt) and another part of our group is at the Sheraton across the street from the arena...

Thursday is really great because you can wander around and not worry about large crowds, relax and watch two games, and mingle with the folks already down there for their respective teams. I certainly have met some great people over the years earlier in the tournament and will be meeting some of them that weekend again to catch up.

I'll be sticking to "the plan" as I have the last two years....drive down...call all friends that go to school at Washington, St. Louis, or St. Louis College of Pharmacy...if we win find a dorm room or apartment....if we lose drive back pi**ed

My wife and I will be there on Thursday. we will watch all nine games. this Weekend and my fantasy Football Draft are my two favorire events.(Sad isn't it)?
Staying at The Marriot Courtyard.
Renaisasance ticked me off, when they closed reservations due to a Medical Convention, Later opened up, but I was already booked at the Courtyard..$126.00 a day gets you free parking and a Full Breakfast for 2..
Renaissance would have been $121.00, but throw in Valet Parking and breakfast for two and it jumps to about $200,00 a day before taxes.
