Positives/Negatives

The nice thing is that there are alot of postives and negatives to this exihibition game tonight. I'll run down as many as I can and I'll need my boyz out there to fill in the gaps.

The Positives!!!

I'm positive that I will never pay $30 for me and my 6 year old to go to an exhibition game again. I'm positive that was a ripoff. I'm positive that those were 3 of the worst officials I have ever seen officiate any game. I'm positive that Bradley will be playing on THURSDAY....Get those 4 games in 4 day shirts ready. I'm positive this time next year we will be hearing the exact same "Lessites" talking about all the good he does for the university, when people forget that he isn't living up to the standard that HE set when he said he ENVISIONED MVC Championships Plural!!!

Now the Negatives!!!

Is Milos not very smart? He comes down to the corner, sets up 2 feet out of bounds, gets the pass and turns the ball over. Ok, preseason mistake. WHat does he do on the next trip down the court? Sets up in corner for a 3 while he is out of bounds. At least they didn't pass him the ball. Not very good.

I'm pretty sure that if you focused on defense so far in practice, that you are as bad at your job as a coach as is Greg Robinson, the football defensive coordinator at U of M. How can you teach that bad of defense and have a job? I could do as well, or bad, however you want to look at it.

I'm also looking at a negative when it comes to Les' postgame interview on 1470. It was clear from his comments that, even tho Bradley hasn't played 1 regular season game yet, that he has lost the team. He admitted as much. He said "They are not buying in." Perhaps it could be that players are tired of hearing the same coaching that has caused losses in the past?

Les said that the players lacked effort, lacked execution, lacked the right attitude. Can't disagree. But whose job is it to get them to have the correct effort, execution and attitude?

One last negative....How did it take 20 minutes to find a parking spot in the parking deck? Don't people know how to park? See a spot, pull in. C'mon it isn't that hard. I couldn't believe how slow people are to get in a spot. Nice design too!

I lied, one more! Do you think the ticket booths could have been any slower? Good call having 2 windows open. Nothin like having hundreds of people in line as the game starts.

This was the lowest point i've had as a fan. Just disgusting. I know there are some old-timers on here who have seen worse. I'm only 34....so i haven't seen as much as some of you but this is disgusting.

Maybe Bradley should buy a beer for any fan (over 21) that came to the game as a good will gesture.

Hate the new deck - one way in, and it's the same way out?? Who ever heard of that? I suppose the majority of the time it's not intended for sporting event crowds that all leave at the same time, but still, it's really annoying.

I fortunately got to miss the last 30 seconds or so of the game just to make sure I wasn't stuck in the deck for an hour.

I didn't think it was that bad getting out....if you took the right exit out of the building to begin with. I certainly wasn't in the deck for an hour and I stayed until the very end of the game. Actually, it took just as long to get in as it did to get out.

Well said.....

Just be patient...we have the new facilities now and everything will be OK in about 2-3 years when we can get in JL's REAL recruits.

I hope those new recruits that are on their way bring the "seatbelts" that Jimmy promised we would need when he got the job. Were those belts to keep people sitting down and not cheering or were those belts what we wear on the way to the play-in round in st. louis?

Well said.....

I'm positive that I will pay $30 for me and my son to go to an exhibition game again. I'm positive that those were 3 of the worst officials I have ever seen officiate any game.

I'm positive I will continue to purchase my tickets well in advance to avoid all the people that don't.

Here's one:

Positive: The Basketball Band played a debuted a new song tonight (or if they played it before, I sure don't remember hearing it)

Negative: It was Bad Medicine, a hit from the 80s, when basically none of the students at the game were even born yet.

Another draw...

Hey, I avoided all of the people in line too. It is called cutting...

I missed not 1 second of the game. But even if you do have your ticket in advance, how is it good to have that many people in line during the game? Some people can find good in anything I guess...

That is why i gave some positives, I'm a glass half-full kinda guy.

Gotta love it.

But even if you do have your ticket in advance, how is it good to have that many people in line during the game?

I don't know, but I did my part. I'm still trying to figure out where all the students were. I mean....it is their team, it was free, and it was on-campus.

I stand corrected. But that makes the point even more strongly. Why do they refuse to be progressive? If they want to make it a more attractive atmosphere to younger people, you gotta start somewhere, sometime. Not saying fast-forwarding the playlist 20 years or more will draw hordes of younger people to the games, but its gotta go through the administration's mind that the "bluehairs" numbers will be dwindling the next 5, 10, 15 years and who is going to be left? Just saying...

Actually, it was not free for me (even though on the website it said it was free, I paid a dollar). And there were students there, in fact I'd say more than the red-white scrimmage.

This has always been a problem for the students. Back when I went to BU in mid 90's, student attendance wasn't great but it was probably double or triple what it is now. There was the "molin-army" that they had for a while that was kinda popular but now-a-days, the student support is pretty bad. Agreed.

To me, I do not think Bradley makes it a big deal to sell the athletics teams. I realize BU's mission is education first, but there is more to a school than just the books, or in this case, Greek life.

Well technically, it's a pretty good possibility that Les will be canned if he doesn't produce this season. Tonight's loss just put him on the hottest of all hot seats in the Valley. The pressures really on now.

I'm still wondering where most of the students were when it's their team, tickets were only $1, and it was on campus.
