Post Game 61 BU 66 uni

Easy answer - Wednesday night is when most of the BCS plays. They have the cash, and they get the officials. That's the reason the Valley has tried to schedule more Tuesday and Sunday games this year. There are more good refs available those nights than there are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Okay, now I see the reasoning behind this. Yeah, pray we don't end up with this ***** during the Valley tournament!

Even though the refs sucked, they didn't determine the outcome. UNI, like some said, made some clutch shots toward the end, and some of them were well-defended. Then when we needed scoring the most, we didn't always get it to the guys we needed to, like when EM shot or some of the other late possessions. SM and Dodie kept us in it by making clutch shots, but UNI was just too strong down the stretch. But there is no reason for us to dribble around and have EM shoot a bad shot with a minute or so left in a close game.

But the effort was definitely there - just because we didn't score for 8 minutes doesn't mean we weren't giving it our all. That's not logical. There was defensive intensity and decent ball movement but some bonehead plays down the stretch.

Yeah it's not about how UNI played. They played well, and we had offensive trouble for a while. The intentional foul call was totally TOTALLY horrendous, though, and did basically end the game.

I can think of a couple of calls that really messed us up... Like the ridiculous charge call against Edge that negated a Maniscalco 3, or the 4th foul called on Edge... But I'm sure UNI fans could recall other such calls. It's not that I think the refereeing benefitted a team, I just think it SUCKED, whistle to whistle. For a while, looking at someone got you a whistle. Then there was a stretch when anything went and no fouls were called. Then it was open season on McCain part of the game. It was all over the place, right up until it was lights, camera, decide the game time for the refs. <VOMIT>

Great point. I was thinking the same thing during the early part of the game.

Yeah. Kept thinking, c'mon blow it up BU! Then in the first part of the 2nd half, I was feeling good. Our offense looked good and we answered everything they had. Then drought time.

Gotta give credit to UNI, they hit the tough 3's even when guarded. At least 4 of the 10 treys they hit were with a man on them. The 8 minute drought by BU in the 2nd half had no effect on the game as UNI started out with a 7 minute drought of its own. It was just a matter of a bucket and a couple bad fouls in between. I have good confidence of beating them here in Peoria, just need someone else to step up and take em down a couple times.

That's what I've been saying. I don't see UNI running the table. They will lose a few before the end, but we have to do our part and take care of them at home and split our last four road games. It is doable, but will take plenty of effort and patience.

I also believe UNI will lose several more games. They have been winning because of extraordinary outside shooting that I don't see them continuing every game. Plus they don't get much from their bench.

Where was Theron? Did David Collins get locked in a bathroom stall in the second half?

Good questions! We aren't going to win very many games when TW doesn't score and only attempts three shots all night! I was extremely surprised after Singh scored twice in a very short amount of time, then there was a timeout and all of a sudden DC comes in for Singh. That made no sense to me.

On the plus side of things....SM and DD really came to play! Last game it was TW and DD. I just wish we got something on offense out of TW tonight.

Well, too bad we lost the game where we started well and held the lead for most of it. Effort was nice. Officiating was horrible.
