well we are now in the middle of the pack and anything can happen

the good....CR made a comeback
the bad.....no inside game again.....TW very off night....FTs made up his stats

Brought over from in-game thread:

Well, I have to say this is about the best I've ever felt about a loss. Too bad Bradley played so poorly in the first few minutes of the game, but they showed a ton of resiliency and we saw nice games out of CR and DN. CR, especially, played a good game. All over the place on D and looked much much more confident on offense.

I also think that was about the best reffed MVC game I've seen all year. Refs called a good one, and I never once came close to blowing out a valve somewhere.

I'm tired of losing, and I'm tired of losing to Creighton, but if we play the rest of our games like we played this one, we should be able to close out the season 5-0 and 11-7 in the MVC.

I just hope that they don't end up as a Thursday night game in St Louis. Les needs to teach the bigs how to rebound better and be more aggresive inside. I hope he can get more out of JP and MK next year than he has gotten outta DC, SS (the robot), and AT this year.

We will not go 5-0. They are all winnable games...but teams that shoot as poorly as we do from 3 and from the line always seem to find a way to lose a winnable game here and there...

Not going to happen.

Bradley holds the tiebreaker over Wichita State and the Shockers aren't going to be two games better than BU with UNI, ISU (Blue & Red) and SIU (on the road) left. Worst Bradley finishes is going to be 6th.

very upsetting for me.....this far into the season with two seniors at the 5 and we still get moving screens during key posessions of the game?

Saw a post on another thread about Jordan Prosser not getting much PT next year at the 5.....I say he gets as much PT next season as EM received during his freshman year! Book-It!

We definitely need more out of our bigs next year...but don't expect Milos to play like a big...he's a Euro-style perimeter big guy...he won't be playing as a 5 next year...we're gonna have to hope for a full recovery by Will...and a miraculous improvement out of AT...

other than the noted weakness @ the 5.....this team does not possess a jump shooter(at least in games).....nobody gets an open shot in for some reason?

The thing that worries me about next years bigs is very little experience , you cannot expect freshman to come in and be able to handle more experienced players , if we can get good play out of the post position we can win the league period.

I'm not saying we will. If we play like we did tonight, then we should. We have 3 home games that we must win... 1 road game at Evansville, and a bracket-buster on the road against a team we should be able to beat. Who knows? I shouldn't understimate UE though, either. Haven't watched them play, and I have no idea how we match-up.

One nice thing, we were pretty good from 3 tonight, thought it was all first half. It was almost like the team figured they'd taken all the 3s they should or something.

BU was 1 for 13 shooting from about the 6 min mark.
Someone please explain our mid conf. skid/slide every year to me:!: Every Year:!: Unbelievable:roll::badgrin::evil:

I just hope that we can start playing two halves instead of just one. Maybe then they can win a few of the games we have left this season and end on a better note (with a win over uni in the MVC tourney).

We do not have the guy who can hit that big shot. No shooters to speak of. And our lapses on D, especially the help side, are just killing us. IMO on D we play way to far out on our guys away from the ball. This makes it much more difficult to help on D down low.

Weird thing was, in this game the good half was the middle half.

I agree....the bigs never know when to switch back...they stay with the guards way too long.....have all year!

Hopefully he doesn't have to play inside. I just hope he can go in and get some rebounds as a complement to whoever is playing at the 5. Maybe they will be able to develop AT more over the summer so we could go with a more traditional lineup of 2 guards 2 forwards and a center next year. Then we could show more diversity by going with three gaurds on occasion and catch teams by suprise.

I would even go for a juco 5 to help settle things out next season.....JP is a freshman, AT has no-game experience, and WE is coming off major knee surgery and who knows how ling before he feels 100% confident in the knee? Help might be good!

We tried getting the ball inside, so it was not for lack of effort. We just could not shoot worth a darn from there.

The good news is FT's where respectable, and our three point shooting was good for at least one half. Maybe we tried too many inside shots in the second half. Sometimes a hot shooting three point team is what is needed to win a game like this.
